Shooting in fifa 2002

Hey can some1 please tell me why wen ur playing fifa 2002 and ur shooting, the player shoots with the wrong foot. For example if u want to shoot a curling ball from left to right with right curl, the player will use his left foot instead of right. Is there a shooting fix, and if so can some1 plz tell me it.
