I was actually thinking about introducing that later on, after the group stage is over: we pick a captain (out of the players in our team, of course) before each match, which will get his rating doubled.

Yeah I got what you meant.
But I'm serious about the captain thing, might work as a point-booster for the teams positioned lower in the league table (as long as they make smart/lucky choices), and could eventually be a title decider at the top.
Also I reckon it won't be hard to implement, so why not. But we'll see, still a long time to go before the Last 16 stage arrives.

I thought Massive was pretty clear that you can only sub your players if they're injured or if the team if eliminated and either way you cannot use someone again if they're subbed. Come on guys, I get it things get lost in the process and you don't realise once the competition but at this point you're just ignoring him.
