I loved that article I have to say. I'm a fan of Eastern Europe and it is a great shame how poorly it is represented in fifa so thank god for Football Manager.

I think its fair to say that you really have to hunt around in those countries to find a bargain. I'm not sure how good he is in FM but Dzagoev of CSKA Moscow looks a prospect. Igor Stasevich of Bate Borisov in Belarus is another real life player I can think of but again not sure about his FM stats.

Anyone know of anyone with potential playing in Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania that would be suited to the RPL?

Eastern European football is fantastic, I don't think anyone really understands how good it used to be and with a bit of money there to compete with any luck it can be pretty competitive again. Would add a whole new dimension to the European scene to have strong Central and Eastern European teams.

I vaguely remember some decent Estonian's back in the day (Mart Poom before he moved to England, and someone who I think was called Marko Kristal... but that is going back a good few games/years now!

If you want to know the best Lithuanian players just check out the Hearts of Midlothian squad!! (Y)

I love doing that! I remember signing Aguero for Atletico Madrid on FM a few years back. Then about a year later he actually made that move in real life. I was well chuffed!!

Dzogaev is a huge prospect in FM09, one of the best Eastern European players around.

How did we get on to discussing who we signed before the real club? I thought this was about eastern europe. It must be great to sign a player and then see them go to that club in real life though.

I've signed a 15 year old Belarusian for CSKA but they can't join yet. Any affordable players anyone can recommend? I think I can spend about 6 mil realistically. I tried to sign Robert Lewandowski but he wouldn't leave his club.

I know, I wanted him so I had the option of a 4-4-2 with Vagner Love and he's more of a target man than Vagner Love. I have Dzagoev in a free role behind Vagner Love at the moment but drew 0-0 with someone rubbish in friendly so I think I need something different.

Eugene Seleznyov (Shakhtar), who is transfer listed for $100k (in the first FM09 version he was, at least). great for small clubs, or if you just want to make some profit.
