I started playing PES about 3 months ago, I would say, I was eeeasily converted from playing FIFA for years. I have to mention over again that PES is almost a perfect game. (one thing missing is a complete manual control of the players at all times-I've already talked about cpu control over the direction of running when the ball is off into space). Anyway, my problem is that i started playing PES configuring the buttons at Fifa settings like:
L1-through ball
R1-switch players
triangle-sprint
circle-shoot
x-pass
square-cross
Now all this works o.k., 'cause it's just a matter of getting used to it. The problem is at tricks. Trick shots are ok R1+O=high lob, O+triangle=low lob, I mean, I got these working fine 'cause the scheme is easy to execute. The problem is at other tricks; for example a fake- I have to press O+X which is extremely difficult and I mostly don't have enough time to move my whole hand to execute the trick first covering the circle and then the x button. It's completely the other way around then square+x, which is very easy to execute. Question: is there a way to configure tricks?- I guess not, but what do you suggest?
Just don't say 'play default'!

You can still do the O+X move.
Don't try to press those buttons separately; just slide your thub from the O-button to the X-button without lifting your thumb.
Do it quick!! Succes!

Thanks, but no thanks. As I said, I couldn't play default 'cause I got used to the scheme over the years.
I cannot succeed to press O+X with ease, it's just not a natural move of the fingers, and no matter how fast I try to do it, it flies off for a stupid 35m shot to nowhere. Yeah, I could start with default, but why then we get the button config. feature in any case?! I have to say that I play almost every day and that I managed to get my playing in order(winning the cups on 5 star mode) without pulling off this move, but I desperately need it for one on one situations, especially when playing against a person!You easily get to know how the cpu will react in certain situations while in man on man siuations you need to be inventive and unpredia
Why is it not possible to configure tricks??!!Why?
Could someone explain the manual pass gauge feature and how it works! I've nevered payed any attention to this, I have to admitt!
What do you think is the best way of conserv. tackling, X or Square(Circle in my case)?!
How about the use of R2 and L2 buttons, beside charging and @ shooting?
