Yetunde Price, the 31-year-old older sister of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams has been shot and killed in a Los Angeles suburb, according to Raymone Baine, the publicist for Serena Williams.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Deputy Alba Yates said the shooting took place just outside the Los Angeles suburb of Compton, where the Williams sisters grew up.

Ms Price, who was the personal assistant to Venus and Serena, died of gunshot wounds at a local hospital, Yates said.

The Sheriff's department said the shooting followed a ''confrontation'' with some residents.

According to reports police have surrounded a location were three suspects have barricaded themselves in.

Ms Price was a registered nurse and held a degree in business management.

Sad really. Those kind of things happen in Compton very frequently though. South Central LA is not a place you want to go to unless you've got a gun for proctetion.

I agree with Ice and Maarten. While it's sad when anyone dies, why should I gush tears when the relative of some spoiled famous people dies? Why is her death more important than the one of whoever the person that died while I typed this post was?

And on another note...I hate the fucking Williams sisters. I never really liked tennis anyways, but they've ruined any chance of me ever liking it.

Anyway, When I saw the headline it had Serena 1st and then I saw older sister, I am like? WTF Venus is dead?

the whole music industry seems to be dead

seems like theres no good songs coming out. I listen to different genres, ive had the same songs on my playlist for months, and the majority of them are like at least a year old
