It is with great sadness that I announce the death of Tom "Tiny" Wharton, Scotland's greatest referee back in the 1950's, 60's and 70's and continued his career until he retired in 2003.
In 1962 he robbed K*lmarn*ck of League Cup glory by disallowing a goal for reasons which are still disputed my Killie supporters to this day
I met him in the Ayr United board room in 2003 and he gave me his old SFA badge, which I still have and he signed my matchday program.
A great loss to football and a good man
