Sao Caetano of Brazil gets 24 pts. deducted for the death of Serginho

News here

This pretty much says that Sao Caetano were at fault, so that means the family can take legal actions against the team and probably get some money out of it. I personally agree with the decision, especially if Sao Caetano were liable in not taking precauationary actions with its players' health. It's unfortunate that this had to happen, both Serginho's death and Sao Caetano's drop in the table, but nothing could replace the life of Serginho... nothing.

Ask Serginho's mother and family if they deserve it or not.

I do understand your point that nothing will bring back Serginho and Sao Caetano knew of his condition.

But so did Serginho himself... he signed off any responsibilty from Sao Caetano so they would let him play. He cared more about playing than his health. So in a way, hes as much to blame as the club itself.

24 less points will not return Serginho to his mother and family :kader:

... Stupid decision ... as FF7 says looks like only here in Southamerica that things happen

Hey, at least something like this wont ever happen again in Brazil. If a club ever encounters itself in this situation they can look back at this incident and ask themselves if its worth losing a player and alot of money... so the right decisions will be made in order not to lose all that, even if the player still wants to play. It had to happen sometime.

I sorta agree. Now clubs will think twice about letting players with problems play, even if they really want to.

i think other clubs will learn there lesson i'am really feeling bad now when i see players play on the field it gets me worried. so i hope players with heart conditions take it ez and pay attention to all the conseqences :kader:

i dont agree with this decision, i cant think it was thier fault, plus this will hurt Sao Caetano as it will cost them a place in Copa Libertadores

that kind of sh.it always happens in brazil, what did fifa when feher or foe died? did the fuc.k up their teams' season? NO
The only right thing they did was to ban the doctor and the president of the club
