Saitek P880 Config Problems !!!

I want to configure my Saitek P880 in game(supported by EA it says). But when I try to it wont let me, it just has the section for keyboard, but wil not move on to my Joypad. I can use the Saitek P880 to play a game, BUT that is no good for me, considering I want to remap what each button does in game.

The stupid thing is, my older Joypad "Logitech Wingman" DOES show up on the button configuration section, but that is no use because some of the buttons on it dont work (that is why i bought a Saitek P880 ).

EA say the Saitek is supported yet is wont show up in the button configuration section, yet does show up when I go to choose a controller to play a game !!!! Anyone else have this problem ? What can I do, as this is quite frustrating considering.

I use the Saitek P880 without any problems, so it must wok OK.
I suggest you delete all joypads you have configured in Windows and reinstall your Saitek.

Ok I will try reinstalling my Saitek. But one question, when you say yours works fine, do you mean you CAN remap your buttons in game ? As I can use my Saitek P880, but not remap the buttons.

i use the saitek 880 too and it works great.

make sure you use the "digital button " though

OK I re-installed my controller. When I go to configure my controller I know have the option of either Keyboard OR "USB KEYBOARD". I am able to configure my Saitek on the USB Keyboard section. Dont know why I dont have the option for Saitek P880, but at least I can remap my buttons on the USB Keyboard section. But Something must be wrong, because now when I play game, in multiplayer games the puase buton is being pressed over and over (not by me) and I dont know why. Thank goodness your only allowed 3 pauses.

Why do I have to use the digital button ? As that is something I am not using, and dont want to use.

Are you using the joypad to choose menu items right from the start? I read a thread that said you should never use the mouse to start the game.

Just an idea.

It won't work otherwise, or?

I have a P880 too and can't configure the buttons. And I bought it just for Fifa

I will try and contact EA and see if they can help.

At amazon.com 17 voters gave it a 4,5 of 5. That is GREAT!

Ok, I got it all to work now, here is how:

First I de-installed the all the old stuff.

Then I reinstalled and chose "Typical user" (not Advanced). The programing possibilities will not be installed for the pad that way.

Then I started Fifa and when I got to the configure-screen, I clicked left with the MOUSE (it did not work with the pad) and the Saitek P880 appeared!

I stopped working after a while. Seems like I'll stop playing Fifa and move on to the much better PES. **** EA 4-ever and hello Konami!

Saitek p880 is supported for button mapping.
You have to make sure that in your registry the name of the joystick in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\
find the p880 and edit the OEMname to say exactly Saitek P880 Pad USB
Then Fifa will recognize it.

Also to Truth in Heart:
The pause button is under the left analog stick on the P880, try to finesse the control instead of pushing it so hard, otherwise you press the pause button. It's stupid but I haven't found a way to remap or turn off that button.
