According to Goal.com:

22/05/2006 16:09 Ronaldo's Mid-East Meet? According to Spanish paper 'Marca', Real Madrid and Brazilian megastar striker Ronaldo is chatting with some Arab football Officials to relocate to Qatar or the UAE league next season.

O Fenomeno' Brazilian Super Star Ronaldo landed in Dubai international airport with his fiancée on a vacation some days ago as recently reported on Goal.com. However, as said by sports daily, the Brazilian is there for business as well.

"Several Sheikhs approach Ronaldo with luxurious proposals to play in the Arab World next season whether in Qatar or the United Arab Emirates," the sports daily reported.

The paper further added that Ronaldo's tour to Dubai is the confirmation to the reports that Arab soccer officials contacted him last week.

Ronaldo's uncomfortable position with Real Madrid might actually make it less likely that he approaches to the Gulf clubs in the near future.

The Real’s top scorer for the past two years criticized the Real crowd in a recent outburst, accusing them of failing to get behind him since his switch from Inter to Madrid for £29.8million in the summer of 2002. He is now considering a move away from the Bernabeu.

He scored 14 goals this season and will also lead Brazil’s attack in the World Cup in Germany in the hope to break Gerd Muller’s all time record of 14 goals.

If the reports confirmed, Ronaldo will be the second South American world-class players who have played in Qatar. Argentine’s legendary super star striker Gabriel Batistuta played his last season in Qatar with Al-Arabi before he retired in 2005.

Will Ronaldo come to Gulf countries sooner - or later?
