As said above, Rivellino did that ages ago and it was captured on TV. I saw a gif somewhere. It was from WC 74 or sumthin.
Anyway, it's not the fact that Rivellino invented it, maybe other players did that too, you never know. It's just that there aren't eny evidence of it. I've heard a lot about Garrincha, the Brazil's forward who was playing in 50-60's, that he was one of the greatest dribblers of all time. No one could snach the ball from him. I wouldn't be surprised if likes of him did a lot of moves which are now known as zidane's, ronaldo's, figos's etc. How many of you've ever seen a full match with Pele playing at he's heydays? Or even Maradona. I don't think most of you have even watched some old WorldCup or Euro highlights.
That was exactly my point. Maradona is relatively well known even among large audience, because many have seen him playing. Pele is a less known(visualy) legend only because he was playing at times when TV broadcasting was born and making it's first steps. That's all. No one could compare who was a greater player.Originally posted by Picture

BTW, I've seen extraordinary stuff from both of them and only aspect that gives Diego some advantage is fact that he's top game was at Napoli, Italy - most defensive and tight league from them all.
