He didnt asked for a translated resume, he asked for a translation of the article

anyway, Romario is the best after Pele, he's right. At least he said after Pele. He once said that he was better then him, and his 1000 goals record is crap :)

Next to Pele??? What about Garrincha, what about Zico, what about Cafu? No no no no. Romario was good and hes retiring and everyone is praising him I know, but BEST next to Pele? That's extreme.

That would be almost as bad as saying that Campos was best next to Hugo Sanchez... though both players were really good.

In any case, my sincere respect is paid to both of these players who are retiring, Romario, and Jorge Campos alike, for they are truly masters of their trade,

I can try...

I was the best after Pelé, says Romário

Nearing the retirement, Romário is beginning to talk as an ex-player. Today, in an interview in which he talked about his international goodbye, the striker warranted he was the best of the Brazilian National Team since Pelé.

"After 1970, I can consider myself the best. I have no doubts about it", said the athlete, who still has contract with Fluminense but isn't playing due to an injury.

Romário scheduled for November 10, at the Los Angeles Coliseum, the international goodbye match. In one side there will be his 1994 World Cup teammates and in the other Mexico, that will pay a tribute to the ex-goalkeeper Jorge Campos. The match's stadium is the same where Brazil won the World Cup 10 years ago.

"I contacted some of the players that played in '94 and everyone accepted. Some of them, that are still playing, like Mauro Silva and Zinho, need an OK from their teams", said the striker, hoping he can count on the presence of the coach Carlos Alberto Parreira too.

"He had been already invited and said he'll do the possible and impossible to be there. Everything will depend on how his agenda is gonna be because of the National Team", he explained.

About his definitive soccer goodbye, Romário warned he expects to play one more season before stopping. "I intend to acomplish my contract with Fluminense by december and, if possible, to help the team to qualify for the Libertadores 2005. I'll see what I'll do later, if I continue here or go to other team to play my last year", he declared.

My english sucks, but there it is.

Maybe he's right, maybe he was the best after Pelé.

Romario = legend. If he isnt the best player after Pele, he's the best player after Pelé to win a WC title.

I believe anything Romario says! He's the MAN!

Yes, he may be extreme at times with his words, but damn it, he deserves to say anything he wants.. he is and always will be the little genious on the fubol field!

To me Romario sucks... yeah, he is a goal machine, yeah he won the '94 World Cup all by himself, and yeah he does deserve some praise... but his attitude is... well... controversial, to say the least...
After Pele retired, in our national squad we had players like Zico, Falcao, Rivelino, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho... All good players and all better than Romario...
He's a decent player, and I respect him for what he achieved, but to say he was the best after Pele in our national squad.... :kader:
And he won't get to 1000 goals even if he plays for 10 more years in Qatar or anywhere...

We're talking about the player, not the person. He's got a poor attitude (still, he manages to crack me up every single time he speaks out of his ass), but well, if we were to judge a player for his attitude then Maradona would be what?

And Romario a decent player?(:/) Much more than that.

You're missing the point man... we're talking about the player, not the funny guy that he was. Personaly, I enjoyed both aspects of him ... but in the end, it was always his play on the field that did most of the talking. Romario will go down as one of the best strikers in the world, period!
Besides, you being a brazilian doesnt make you a romario expert. :mrpimp:
