That's what the IFFHS (something like International Football Federation for History and Statistics) said.
Romário is the biggest striker actually playing in high level soccer on earth. At the age of 36 the player scored 445 goals in 536 games so far.
The second is the polish Krzysztof Warzycha from Panathinaikos (sp) from Greece with 310 goals in 538 games.

I forgot to tell that is just counted goals for Nationals Championships. It wasn't counted goals for national teams and other stuff. Romário's total is more than 860 goals:Bow: :Bow: :Bow: :Bow:

I don't quite agree with being the biggest... he's just 1.65m tall or something like that... LOL

But seriously, he's the best striker in the activity, not only in the goals he scores, but also but the show he gives to the people that see him play, in the stadium or by the TV. Remarkable.

I hope emerging Brazilian forward Diego scores as much goals as Romário scored, when he is that old. He has everything to do so.

Romario is still a half-decent forward despite his age, but he's past it at the highest level.

He has scored a lot of goals, yes, and I do agree he was one of the top strikers during his time, but he was helped by playing in the Brazilian league (where defences aren't exactly watertight) and Dutch league with one of the 'big three' (PSV). This helps him gather up a lot of goals. If he had spent his whole career playing in Serie A I think he would have gotten less goals.
