RIP Jimmy Johnstone

from celtic website:
Jimmy Johnstone, Celtic's greatest ever player, has died after a long illness. Billy McNeill spoke of his devastation at the news, but described his admiration for the way in which Jinky had courageously handled his illness over the past few years.

One of the best wingers to ever play the game, the king of the Lisbon Lions, RIP you legend.

Just back from Celtic Park. The place is overflowing with people. There's even quite a few Rangers fans. That's how much of a superstar Jimmy was.

The greatest tribute he ever had was when Celtic beat Real Madrid in the Bernabeu in Alfredo Di Stefano's testimonial.

During an after-match photo call, Di Stefano INSISTED Jinky be included in the pic. When Di Stefano rates you, you MUST be a helluva player!

:( I had the pleasure of meeting Jinky before, such a nice guy, and one helluva player. Jinky will be sorely missed. RIP and may he now join the great game in the sky.

RIP very young still. :(

Though I think Dalglish and Billy McNeill are more legendary players of Celtic, still a shame to see him go. :boohoo:

Dalglish? he left for financial reasons so he's not in the hearts of celtic fans.

McNeill is our greatest captain BUT Jinky was voted the greatest Celtic player of all time by the fans when Celtic opened their Hall of Fame in 2002.

Therefore he is Celtic's number one player EVER!
