It does not seem possible with lua editing, I do not think there is another way without editing the database.

There is actually a bug with the classic kits, the script would stop running and the new tattoos would not be assigned. This has been fixed for the next version.

Not in the kit selection screen, you can use assignGameKit to to use alternate kits in specific matches
