Republic of Ireland vs Klaas-Jan Huntelaar[R]

Finally at last Klaas has made his debut for Holland and what a debut it was. 3 goals(from which one was dissallowed although he was clearly not off-side) and 2 assists which involved him in all Holland's goals making it 4-0. Let the discussion about Van Nistelrooy be over now, he's Holland's best striker and I dare even say one of the best of the world and I'm not biased here.

Wish we had taken him to the WC and wish it was August 31st already. :(

Anyway remember his name. :rockman:

One of the best in the world? In a (comparitively) weak league and against an Ireland team with a new coach and system. Not just yet...

He's definately got the potential though.

Which striker can say he scored 52 goals last season?

As i said before, a (comparitively) weak league.

Kevin Phillips once scored 30goals in a season in the PREMIERSHIP... look what happened to him.

He scored 33 in the league, 2 in the playoffs, 6 in the Amstel Cup, 2 in the UEFA cup, 1 in the CL(with only 2 matches played), 8 goals for Holland u-21 last season. He scored 17 league goals two seasons in a row playing for Heerenveen. So he scores everywhere and always. It's not like it is one match it's three seasons and he's only getting better.

But alright if you don't want to take my word he's that great, Klaas will proove it to you coming season.

Oh and the fact Phillips didn't make it is because his mentality wasn't good, he suffers from pressure, Klaas doesn't.

Superstar
Huntelaar did it again, he scores everywhere, anytime and anyplace.
Two goals and two assists (with one brilliant backheel) says enough.
We are going to see beautiful things from him this season with Ajax but also in the Dutch national team.
Best of the world is a bit much but he is a superstar in the making for sure! (Y)

But don't forget that Ireland was handicapped, they played with a B-team, most players weren't there so this is not really a measurepoint for us but it's nice to see the way we played cause that was not bad at all.

Kuyt played the whole 2nd half and there was a delegation for Newcastle in the crowd, I saw Glenn Roeder with a little blocnote there.
I heard that they want to get Kuyt within 48 hours.

Hendrik

Team Captain
His second goal was nice.

I think the Irish will finish second in their group, the Czechs are not the team they used to be.

All i'm saying is that he could end up being a huge flop. You never know. I also want this guy to be massive (and then sign for United :D) but i refuse to be dragged along with all the hype, he's definately got the potential to be HUGE, and he is still very young and still has a very long way to go.

I think Huntelaar's gonna make it. He proved himself with smaller clubs (AGOVV and Heerenveen) and scores in Europe too Kezman had those scoring rates, but not in Europe. He flopped in England and isnt that good in the Primera either

Youth Team
He's not that young... 23 is the perfect age to make your international brakethrough. And it's nonsense to say that we shouldn't take his goals serious because he is in a 'weak league.' He scores international too. 2 goals in the final of the European U21 tournament (and 1 brilliant goal in the semi-final against France), a class header against Inter in the Champions League (played a great game too), and last week he scored 2 goals against Kopenhagen in CL qualification. And then tonight again. With his mentality and quality, he might very well be the next big thing. It's for sure he is more complete then say fellow countryman Ruud van Nistelrooij.

k first of all tevez has scored in and around the same goal amount as huntelaar, second huntelaar couldnt have player against a weaker defence today,i was at the game and our defence was extramly poor and huntelaar movement was extremly poor, third i could name about 30 strkiers at least i would rather have then huntelaar, the lad hasnt proven himself yet and I couldnt care less what he scored in holland or for the u-21 look at 2 of the most talented u21 players le tallec and pongolle and look where they are.
so just give it a rest every time i have seen him play against a good defence he was well average

What a load of bullcrap, i've never seen to much games from him, except in Euro, but you can't say he hasn't proven himself, look to his stats, he might not bee the next big thing, but those stats aren't surely to be ignored... And Dutch League isn't bad, it's just not as good as England/Spain/Italy...

You can only beat what's in front of you .... and Huntelaar has scored against anyone at any level that has come accross him, and he can score all kinds of goals. He is most definitely a high class act!
