render AI frame smoothens graphics, but...

the render_every_ai = 1 dramatically smoothens graphics... but whenever there are freekicks.. or goal kicks... it's slow..

i'm using GF4 440
Pentium 4 - 2.4 GHz
256 RAM...
my set-up is strong but i want fast game play... and good graphics...

Yeah same here. I think it has something to do with the glow effect they have used on the sun.
I'm using a GF4 ti4400

An option to turn off the bright sun would be good. Perhaps in a patch or someone like Ariel could figure this one out.

I'm new to using render_every_ai = 1 and I immediately noticed the slightly overall decreased speed of gameplay.

I then tried it out with FIFA 2003 and noticed the same improved smoothness, but slightly overall decreased speed.

Can anybody that played FIFA 2003 with these settings reply and tell me if this variable caused an Out-of-Synch playing online via the Online Matchup, Direct IP and/or LAN?

I'm basically wondering if setting the variable will be ok for online play in 2004.

Don't think so, I'm running a GeForceFX 5900 and though quite mild, I get the slowdown as well, and most of those who report the problem say they own GeForces, perhaps it's some kind of code problem with NVIDIA boards? Or something to be solved with the new series 50 drivers?

I also found slowdowns especially Goalkicks.

I'm disappointed wth the way EA develop their games, more high-end hardware needed so that the games can be play smoother.

Ti4200 (ASUS, 128MB, 8-Layer PC, P4 [email protected], 512MB DDR400...
1024x768x32, works great either with reaif=1 or without... I get *similar* fps (70-80 without and 60-70 with... camera 8 (I think, the one before the radar) and 50-60, 40-50 - freekicks, replays, goalkicks, etc. No slowdowns. Win XP SP1, Detonator 44.03 drivers. Graphics are defint. smoother with reaif=1, but I can't see a big deal playing without it. Maybe you can VSync the game at 800x600x85Hz... but 800x600 is crap.

Terrible. I'm screwing around with the setting and I can't get the game to go over 30 fps in regular view.

It's around 25 on the pitch when you see all the players but when you look at the stadium alone it's 75. My video cars limits it to 75 cause of refresh rate. WTF. I don't have time for this bull****.

The game should run at least at 30 fps. WTF!

could you remove the cut scenes during goal kicks?

Maybe the sun effect can be removed ( dunno why it slows down the scene when its not really heavy, maybe its a bug ) but thanks to the sunlight the enviroment looks realistic.

BTW there is a setting at the demo config to enable rain but doesnt works, will be nice to try it, maybe same as the sun will make everything slower.

Also at the AI files there are special ball physics for rain.
