Hey i need to reinstall windows but this FIFA10 i have has had a lot of changes made to it to my preference and i want to know if it's possible if there's any way of copying my FIFIA10 to a new installation of XP?
Or if its possible i can install FIFA10 and be able to load up everything from my old one?

are you sure there's no way using the backup program or something, changing a few registry values?
Maybe using the same DB file and all related files would work?

backup Your all zdata files as well as your fifa.db and after reinstalling windows also reinstall FIFA 10 and then restore all zdata files in the data folder of your FIFA 10.(backup zdata files on another drive like D , E , F etc. instead of C and then install windows on drive C)

Just make a copy of the fifa 10 folder in program files and the one in my documents. Then go to regedit and export the registry for fifa 10. Once you have finished with your new windows setup put the copy of the fifa 10 folder exactly in the same place you had it (i guess its program files) then click on the registry file you exported and thats it, Fifa 10 should be running the same way as before.

Thanks, seems like regularcat doesn't know everything after all :)

@ Haribofan - Can you tell me how you did this please cause my brother wants the game but with my DB & patches on his PC, so could you tell me how this is done please?

@ destrones - Is this pretty much what Haribofan is saying but without using backup tool? I'd rather use backup tool personally, if i can that is.

i said it wasnt possible to use a previous installed fifa w/ a new installed.

i didnt say there wasnt a work around, but it requires playing in the registry
which i wont tell you how to do, cause if you mess it up, ill hear how its my fault.

so you are on your own w/ that.

& lets not get into a fifa editing knowledge issue again, because you know who will win.

i dont need to ask how to, because i know how to.

It was just a joke mate usually you know what to do but i was just saying that this time you didn't and that's all, no offense intended even if you were for some strange reason.

Oh another thing

i said it wasnt possible to use a previous installed fifa w/ a new installed.

Did you hell, you just bluntly wrote
and that was it!

You obviously didn't know what to do and now someone else knows how to do it your acting like you already knew how to because it probably dented your massive internet ego.

Please guys, dont make a big deal out of this. Regularcat is an expert so im sure he didnt mean to tell you there was no way around and as i said in other topic, there is always more than one way to do things and it doesnt mean one is better than the other. Im suggesting this way because its actually the only way i know but its pretty straightforward because you dont need any special tools, just to do it as you would do with any other thing in windows you want to back up.

In fact, i have windows 7 and windows XP in the same computer and all FIFAs installed in both. What i did instead of installing them in both which would have taken so much time, is the method im suggesting. I only installed the game in either XP or Windows 7 and copied the registry to insert it in the other. Also, the game folder is located in one drive so its exactly the same game (except the profile but you can copy that one too) no matter what OS i use so if i change something using lets say XP, the change will have the same effect when i play the game in Windows 7. So if you want to have the same exact game running in another computer you can use this method and it will work.

Good luck!

I agree entirely all i said was "Thanks, seems like regularcat doesn't know everything after all" and regularcat made a mountain out of a molehill, and he's had arguments with other members for this same reason, he seems to detest me for some reason when i have nothing against him or anyone else on these boards and i think everyone should get along.
Don't create animosity here it's supposed to be a friendly and helpful community.

Thanks for the help destrones i'll give it a go!

Well, sometimes you have to be very careful with the words you use because all people feel and take things and words different. I was just bashed in other topic by a guy who said i was disrespectful just because i said i havent found what i was looking for. Maybe i didnt use the appropriate words to express my thoughts or maybe he was just too sensitive, i dont know but its fine. In those cases its better to talk things out and make them clear to prevent misunderstandings and thats what i did in that topic. You should do the same now and make yourself clear without any bad feelings. I know you meant well but to be honest i think that sentence could be easily mistaken specially if you have had confrontations with regularcat before. I would suggest just to make things very clear and straight. Im sure regularcat will be in the best position to reason with you.

i backed you up the other day & its cool, so dont worry about this, & i am also dual booting as well xp & vista.

look here i have no internet ego, & i knew how to do it.

its got nothing to do w/ someone saying something & me pretending to know.

i have no problems saying i dont know how to do something if i dont know how.

the fact is it has to do w/ the windows registry, which isnt a user friendly place to play
around in, & some people dont listen to what you tell them, then f**k s**t up & blame you.

reference in case you dont believe this either - http://www.soccergaming.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161600&page=6 (post 81)

which i simply dont need to be dealing w/.

& as proof i knew, search around the support forum for responses from me about reinstalling fifa 10 & making sure you remove the registry keys.

meaning i know where the keys are & what key does what, so explain to me how i dont know.

for the record i have nothing against you but we have already had an issue between us, where you pretended to have more knowledge of editing fifa than me, which you, i & the whole community knows isnt very true.

whether or not you wanna believe i already knew what to do is on you, as i could care less what you think i know & dont know, but keep my name out of your mouth & i can go on being friendly to the community & continuing to help.

Look i've had no bad feelings towards you, i didn't ask you for help on this question, to be fair you could have been alot less provocative by simply just leaving this thread in this first place, instead of just putting 'no' even though you just said you knew what to do which after searching the forums yeah it looks like you do.
So why you just come here and say 'no'?
And i've never said i have more FIFA knowledge than you, im not bothered if i have small FIFA knowledge, i don't have time to edit all day because i have a life & college so i just play in the evenings sometimes.
And if you didn't have an issue you wouldn't have come to this forumand just write 'no' when you know the answer and you just said you were
friendly to the community & continuing to help.
Each user has different computer skills, now if you would remember that instead of just jumping to conclusions assuming you know what my computer knowledge is.

Im in my 6th year of college, all work on computers.
Look i can put mac on a PC, i can model the empire state building in C4D im sure i can change a few registry values.

Since i've corrected the registry values now and ported this over to the other XP, now this thread is done.
Don't assume you know other users skills just let them know of the consequences before hand and this whole thing could have been avoided.
