V8 AI , i will stick to this ai it feel realistic. The running no longer feel like superhuman as last time. The shooting a lot better, have been hitting the pole a couple of times and rock when the control vibrate :) . Last time shooting goes wide or been saved by a supergoolie. I put a vote to have this v8 ai to be the default ai for the worldcup mod.

Nah mate, SOME ppl care to give feedback for ur creations, only that the amount of work u put is not proportional to the amt of feedbacks they deserve though.

Coming to AI v8:

I still have not played more than a couple of matches with V8 due to work commitments and testing out Indian megapatch.

I straightaway changed the POWERUP values to the values u specified in readme.txt. Last time I told that ur GP is more European style while Onsches' is Latin American style with more dribbling. This time too ur GP has European touch with more realism. The things I liked most were incredible through passes and jostling, coupled with ricochets of football with other players. Sometimes the ricocheting effect is too much though or sometimes the heading power seems a little unrealistic.

Shooting is good but I donno why I feel that v7's shooting was better to my personal liking (but playing a couple of games is not enough to comment on these). Sometimes lob-crossing is too weak.


I have to play more to comment about these.

BTW, since I love to mix GPs of urs and Onsche's, I will have to make a mix again to get the best. Can u tell me what will be the difference if I take the powerup values from v7?

the values were set at 28, which has the bar rise really fast.

it will make the ball feel incredibly light since it doesnt take much time to shoot, cross, etc.

i only lowered them because i feel its too easy to hit the perfect through ball or cross to a teammate when the meters rise fast.

i dont like the fact that you can see an opportunity at the very last second & feed the perfect through ball or cross to your teammate.

keeping the meters rising slowly makes it so you must see your next move in advance, it makes you have to focus on everything going on, not just what you are doing w/ the player in possession of the ball.

cause its a fact every players at some point has to look up for options, unlike in fifa 10 when a teammate will always be there.

which is why i changed the runs info, to better suite the purpose of the meters.

& why i also decreased the cross assistance & width, which is why the crosses sometimes seem too low, its because you didnt hit the perfect cross.

when i cross which isnt much, they tend be to perfect 75% of the time.
its also like that too to try to create chances for diving headers opened w/ my animations patch.

no disrespect to any gameplay makers, but my gameplays create the prettiest goals, not just shoot & score.

the gks are what i worked on to get them almost perfect, to stop the easy goal scoring to make scores more realistic as well.

im just looking for feedback, ive already started work on the ai again, i just release when beta people tell me its good for now.
if it was all on me, id prolly never have released a gameplay.

So you have just to download the .zip, go to the options-tab in the FHL-Switcher and click on import. Then "Regularcat’s Gameplay V.8" will be included in the FHL-Switcher.

Oh yeah RC I forgot abt goalkeepers. I just could not believe my eyes when I saw a goalkeeper backpedaling to reach for the lob and fist it over the bar just at the last second and himself rolling into the goal.

Haven't been playing FIFA for a while but I'm gonna start now and with the new V.8 patch that has been released here. I'll see if I have time to write feedback today.

another masterpiece from u :) but ur initial powerup values were just far too low!! dont tell me u urself play with those low values!?? :O

while changing those values back to 18 as stated in ur readme,i noticed u've reduced ideal shot target height to 3.5 from ur previous 5? 5 makes it tough and realistic! players(not cpu,i mean my own team players) even miss open goals at times,as also happens in real too!! so i changed it back to 5 :)

and finally,after a really long time i got to see cpu(darren fletcher) score from outside box! :D

great work rc :)

on the real though, i do play w/ the meters on 3.
makes it much harder for me.

ideal shot target height in my version is 5.0, its only 3.5 for everyone else.
everyone wanted 2.0, i wanted 5.0 so i met in the middle.

my version is different from v.8 released version.
plus i constantly update the ai, i play a match & if i dont like something i change it immediately.

generally it's more balanced than previous versions
and the meter setting to 3 really increase the difficulty, at first it's new to me, I feel puzzled but now it's more challenge. Good AI!!

maybe sth to be improved is the kinds of ways of CPU's attacking. Most situations, CPU will always organise the attack from the middle. Meanwhile the way of breaking through my defenders is skill dribbling, however I could easily block the ball. As a result, CPU only could have one goal at most in my game, and can't have more than two goals.

Could CPU be better dribbling? Any parameters could be adjusted for it?

@Jayttt: strange, when I play the CPU tends to attack both trough the middle as trough the side... Maybe you've only been playing against teams that don't use wing-play?

Having now played about 10 games with the new V.8 ai file I can hopefully be in a position to offer some feedback. It's very good indeed and the behaviour of the keepers in particular is about as realistic as any game from EA could ever become by 'tweaking'.
The diving headers make a welcome return (though I think that's really only via your excellent animations patch ?)
The slower power-up meters just take a couple of games to adjust to and certainly achieve their stated intention (i.e. making the game a bit harder)
Quality crossing and through balls are now trickier to accomplish (which is as it should be) and I like the unpredictability of the ricochets and loose ball bounces very much.
With fouling being made more likely for mis-timed challenges, the art of defending against a really good attacking side like say France or Brazil, is a tough challenge.
What strikes me about most of the modded gameplay feedback on the forums is that much of it consists of 'it's too easy for Real Madrid to beat Zaire Mothers and Toddlers XI 12 nil' or 'it's way too hard bro, I lost to Brazil playing as Cowdenbeath reserves 5 - nil, at HOME, wtf !?' etc etc
Your evaluation of any gameplay patch will, to a very large extent, be clouded by your own individual ability with a joystick/keyboard and the relative strengths and weaknesses of the teams you select for a match. There is no single patch that will suit every single gamer. Go figure....

they do for me also.

what i noticed is the will attempt to attack the box, & close the lanes they
will push to the corners to send in a cross or pass the ball back & attempt
to rebuild an attack.

cool, not any people like the meters so low, but it really does add to the difficulty overall.

not being able to get the perfect cross in or play the perfect through ball on
a counter attack is key & is very realistic.

i am very pleased w/ the keepers abilities, i went back to the "players" playing
to their abilities like in v.6.

so some gks might make a mistake, i mean might.

im not too worried about others level of difficulty, as some players just suck & some are beasts who cant lose anyway.

i could make a gameplay where you will never win, but it will be like playing pes, arcade like & boring.

instead i go realistic, w/ some level of difficulty.

hey man,
i was playing fifa again after quite some time, and remembered of ur work. i remember i used the first ones back when i used to play a lot, and now im back in the version8 and its impressive. excellent job^^ much much better than play fifa as EA provides hehe
i only played a couple games, and to be honest didnt like much on how the through ball is so slow. but i guess its just a matter of getting used to it :)

One question, why does it take so long to charge a shot or a cross? I never get the time to make a cross or shoot a long-shot before the defender takes away the ball since it takes like 15 seconds...

Read the Readme boss..if u don't like the powerup rating you could change it back to the default values..


@Regcat: the gamepay is very good mate..especially the offensive buildup of the computer team..and the goalkeepers are good too..especially the higher rated ones..thx for this gameplay mate..

i love your gameplay Reg !!
i really enjoy it

But,
1 - i've noticed that after scoring some goals, the CPU starts by passing to your side.
2 - after you recover the ball the defence let many space making easy to pass them and score.
3 - stronger's team should have more chance to win; i've won Barcelona(4 and half star) with Flamengo(3 star) by 6 - 2.

Now I can say that ur GP has brought that Latin American touch as well.

The most notable change: goalkeepers of course.

Next: CPU attack buildup and aggressiveness and long range shot goals.

I can now safely say that PES with all the patches falls behind Fifa with certain patches like animation and GP patches (and some graphical patches). PES2010 can never show such realism and competitiveness in gameplay

@ Cheltonjr: are you playing legendary? Try world class once, and play Flamengo against Barça. You'll be amazed. (Oh and make sure Barça's formation is better then the original one..)
