Reassigned

Well I just found out that I was reassigned from RM, to RB, which is not that bad for me 'cause I guess I can do a good job there. I think it won't be that hard to adapt playing there, but I need to try it first. What I was trying to say is that is there somebody that can give me some tips? I might play as a CD too so tips for both would be very helpful and highly appreciated.

Don't wander off too far down the right flank, you especially might have the tendency to do that since you have just been moved from RM. Other than that I don't really know what to tell you I never played defense on any teams that I've been on....eh tackle well I guess :D.

dont dive in right away if a player is attacking on your side, pressure him, but dont dive in right away.thats what they told me to do when i had to play side back sometimes.

Thanks, and yes Alex, that would be my problem, I might get too far but I'll try to control myself. Andriy your advice is very good I guess, I never thought about that really, but I'll apply it :D.

just remember that when ur playing as a right back u have the touchline near u....i used to forget that sometimes and when i would want to go around the player id end up putting the ball out of bounds, a simple thing to remember but easy to forget.

contain first, wait for him to make a mistake( since your not playing professional they most likely will) and then pounce. Just dont let him get passed you, if he plays a square or negative pass you've done your job, you dont always need to take the ball away to be a good defender.

Thanks a lot. Well I guess I'm doing well, the coach says I easily adapted and he's happy with me there. Too bad I'm not fast, but I just try to do my job, no moaning, not too many yellow cards (actually none this season).
Cheers, really appreciate your help mates.
