Reasons to leave fifa 09 and back to fifa 08​

Well, after playing and playing, try and test all Games Mode, all Difficulty Levels, all official patchs, etc. I have decided to return to fifa 08. Of course Fifa 09 has much better graphics and looks really better, but it has something unforgivable, BAD A.I and DIFFICULTY LEVELS.
Others reasons :
*CPU: Bad defensive in box. Really, really poor.
*CPU: Bad defensive over the wings. Cpu players don't pressure and mark really poor
*CPU: Players only run like roadrunners with the ball. Don't build, create or generate situations intelligently.
*CPU: Not pressure to retrieve the ball.
*GoalKeepers are really poor in long shots, free kicks, 1 vs 1. Keepers are pretty stupids like Fifa 04, 05, 06 or 07.
*No matter the Difficulty level you play, is very easy to score.
*THE GAME IS TOO EASY. If you play with a great team ( Man U, Barcelona, Liverpool, Madrid, Chelsea, Milan, Inter, 4 or 5 star teams,etc ) is much more easy yet. With a poor team ( 1 or 2 star team ) is a little more hard, but not really much.
*CPU : Ball possession is ridiculous. ( like: Human 78% and Cpu 22 % )
And many other things...

I don't know why EA SPORT decreased difficulty levels. I really don't understand. If you can come back to play Fifa 08, you see a big difference.
Fifa 08 is really much harder, challenge and with better Goalkeepers. No matter which team you play.
It's a shame. EA, please, FIX THIS WITH A NEW PATCH.
Please, is a long, long season just for this....

I think the gameplay is better than last year, at least amount of goals is increased. Last year, my results were 0-0 1-0 0-1 1-1 and at most 2-0 in world class but right now I can score better and CPU can score more especially long shots and free kicks. Did you try legend difficulty, normally it provides better defensive systems for CPU?

Simple reason: because lot of people asked it. Lots of people have always asked for not superman goalkeepers and more easy dribbling: this is the result!

Totally agree. I'm playing in legendary level and still very easy to score. My team is Accrington ( half-star team ) I won easily against really good teams like Juventus, Barcelona, Inter, Milan, Lazio, Roma, Liverpool, etc. Really bad keepers and really poor difficulty levels.

This is FIFA 09. A good game with good graphics but really, really, really EASY. I leave Fifa 09 and change to Fifa Manager 09. Is not the same but it's a really interesting game. Bye

keep in mind guys, if you're on this website, odds are you're pretty dedicated to the game and play it a lot more (and thus get much better at it) than 95% of the people they're marketing to. fifa has to be accessible to everyone; not just us diehards.

The keepers are still superhuman! Some of the saves they pull off are just stupid, it's Pele v Gordon Banks every other save! It dilutes the thrill of a good save, just like too many goals dilutes the thrill of scoring goals.

I have to disagree with OP: After the 2nd patch and playing at WC, the AI is much better when it comes to marking the wings and they press you constantly, all over the pitch.

You can't have tried with the 2nd patch then. It's hard enough to beat Barca with Man Utd on WC, let alone trying with Accrington!!!! I've found that since the second patch, the most common scorelines I get are: 1-0 and 1-1. You get the odd flogging as well, of course. Bit like real football, wouldn't you say? And before anyone starts, I'm good at football games and all other kinds of games.

Rubbish!!!!! Some of the saves I've seen the AI pull off are ridiculous. If anything, it's far too easy in one on one for the AI!

Disagree completely. The AI can get very good at playing 'you can't have the ball'!

From my angle, FIFA08 was a freak show, most stupid ai ever and the defence was the comedy movie of the year (remember the 3-4 defense players "attached" to the stricker back-side shorts). And it was a bad copy of 07. In 09 we can see some work was done, and the ai is waaaaaaaay better. Unfortunaly the bad thing is that 09 still have some of the 08 ingredients and some new ones.

Some suggestion for those who thinks that 09 is to easy:

In fifa07 a ini file (i don't remember the name) established the dificulty in the game. The "modders" like NK edited that file to make FIFA 07 more harder.
In fifa08 that file was missing from file structure, but...BUT if you copy the lines from that old 07 ini file in a common.ini file created next to fifa08.exe it works! I have done that in 08 and it works! Maybe you can use that file next to fifa09.exe and have the dificulty you want.

In fifa08 is not present but i copyed the lines from it in a file named common.ini and this new file works if is located next to fifa08.exe. I think FIFA 09 for PC like others have said is just a graphical improvement, the real game (Next Gen) was built for the PS3 and XBOX 360 consoles.

You are wrong my friend! FIFA09 is a better game then older version of FIFA.

I wouldn't say amazing, but they're better than they were. Also, the game is not great and can't be for four very important reasons:

1. Bugs, bugs and more bugs. For me to call a game amazing, I want to see a lot less bugs, EA! This is the buggiest game of all time.

2. No attention to detail: No animated flags for linesmen (no animation of any kind for officials, other than running around. No camermen/policemen at the edge of the pitch. A crowd that looks like an alien-hive, nets that look like steel cages and no wide-angle view for corners/goalkicks, to give that 'huge stadium' feel. The stadiums feel far too small when you see the view from the corner.

3. No aerial battles at all! EA have completely failed to include a very important part of football!

4. Why the hell doesn't the PC version feature all that the NG does? Our Be A Pro is pathetic compared to NG! EA Sports, you are the only company in existance that dumbs down a game for PC. Everyone else does it for the consoles, because everyone else doesn't namby-pamby to people with ancient PCs! They make games for PC Gamers, with GAMING PCs! Time to move on, EA! Fifa isn't even optimised for dual core! Stop feeding us this garbage that an average gaming PC can't handle NG Fifa. If they can handle things like Crysis, NG Fifa is a piece of cake. And a fully fledged gaming PC pisses on NG consoles.

It is a very good game, therefore, but not amazing. 80%, instead of 90% (which would've been attained by implementing all four things I've mentioned above).

Edit: I forgot: Bloody terrible online mode.
