shame, I think we can exploit the most out of our players with a 4-1-3-2...specially if we played Saviola just behind Rudd

yeah that will probably be our most used formtion, but it would be good for us to try out other formations like the 4 2 3 1, as there will be gmes where well have to be more defensive, espeacially away from home, dont forget we won 11 games away from home last season with that formation( thats a new record i think).

oh yeah definetly, I just think that we need to go into Saturday's match going after the game; If Schuster can make sure that the players follow their assignments properly then we should be alright....I am not understimating Patetico, but; we are at home, we need a win and we are on a high because of the signings, we have to go out and prove something to the world beyond the fact that the squad is still far from being a true team yet....

What really really killed us against Sevilla was our lack of tactical discipline, the flanks where getting crushed by the likes of Duda and Navas and that meant that the CB had to spread out which as we saw allowed Renato the room to murder us thru the middle.......

How the hell are you guys affording all these signings and what was the point of signing Drenthe if you then went and signed Robben and Heinze.

well drenthe is going to be back up to robben, the season is very long and he is very young.

A)We didnt think Heinze was coming;
B)we bargained for a better defender out of Drenthe which he isint;
C)we need to have solid players for rotation purposes it is a long season, lots of games
D)we cant expect Robben to play every game for us this year, even if he stay healthy....same for Heinze

i say it now and mark my words...Lets all have patience until about January the scores might not reflect our player quality until january it takes time........I tell you this; if they give this group some time to mold by the end of january we are going to be unbeatable able to take every trophy home for the next few years.....problem is; will people and the board give Schuster and his prodigies time, and will we survive the tournaments until then without incurring any major setbacks like against Sevilla?? that is the question

i agree 100%, lets give schuster some patience. He'll need time to form a cohesive unit.

Rotation and Drenthe is very young with lots of potential. If I remember right we had a budget of 100 million euros to spend on players, we make a lot of money. Also we need some wingers in the team and Heinze is not a winger so it makes sense.

We did the same thing, and the results are astonishing so far. To remake the team doesn't necesarily mean there is no chemistry . It also means that the new players will have the new enthusiasm to bring to the table. That enthusiasm can be adictive and built up a very strong team chemistry.

true, plus remember this:

Saviola, Heinze, Gago all play for the argentina NT, they know each other

Sneijder, RVN, Robben and soon to be Drenthe will all play or already play for the Holland NT again either way they know each other

Robinho, Ramos, Casillas, Raul, Salgado (uugh!) all have been teammates for at least two years some for as many as 8......there is chemistry....

your better argument should be that there is no tactical consitence; there is none, these guys dont know a 4-4-2 from their elbow, at least not the way Schuster wants it; that will take time, and that is what might hurt us more than anything else...cause man by man we got enough team to win a Treble

i'm gonna follow Real Madrid out of curiosity this season, you guys have a lot of talented players and a coach who seems lost at times, and i think i've never seen a team buy and sell so many players during one transfer window, maybe during the wholse season, but this is just the summer transfer window

between promoted players, returns from loans and actual new players there will be 17 new faces.

The chemistry shouldn't be a big problem. We bought Eto'o, Larsson, Santi, Deco, Edmilson, Sylvinho and Belletti in the summer of 2004 and it was a great season. The most difficult task for Schuster will be to bench Raul. If he can do that, you will virtually have an extra player on the team. I doubt he'll do it, though. Not even Capello benched Raul, and this is the guy who drove Ronaldo out of the club and benched the biggest shirt seller.

Schuster just doesn't seem like someone who would have the balls to do it.

btw Robben is a quality signing. Not worth €36M, but definitely a quality player who will do a lot for you if he can stay fit.

Thnx man. I hope Robben stays fit. Your're also right about Raul. I think that Raul himself doesnt have many trouble with being benched, because he knows that it would be the best for the club. And if someone loves the club then its Raul. I for one want to see the old Raul back. Even if its for a few games. But I dont think it will happen soon. So thats why I think we should give Conejo or El Pipita the chance to shine behind Ruud. Its such a shame that Robben and Higuain are out of the Derby. Heinze wont play too, I guess (and HOPE) Marcelo will play as a LB. I cant imagine Royston Drenthe play there. If that happens then we can already pick out a score in favour of Pathetico. Lets hope Drenthe plays as a left winger. He has potential, he has speed, he has technique and a damn good shot.

---------------Casillas------------------
-----------Pepe-------Canna-----------
--Ramos----------------------Marcelo--
----------------Diarra------------------
----------------Guti--------------------
--Robinho---------------------Drenthe--
--------------Sneijder------------------
---------------Ruud--------------------

I would rather see Gago instead of Guti. Or put Sneijder as a CM and use Saviola/Baptista/Raul as SS. We got soo many SS and I think we should use them.

Schuster is an idiot! This guy gets ina press conference after this morning's practice and says that he would like to bring in more players..what the hell is wrong with him.....he said something a long the lines of: "Yeah I know we've spend a large sum of money but if they told me they wanted to bring in one or two more guys I would love it.....what a prick
