yeh well look at the whole squad it may not be full of stars but its damn strong, we have one of the strongest and youngest squads in europe, the others that come close are chelsea, man u and inter.

we dont need any star players this season, we have plenty of rising stars in gago, Higuain and ofcorse robinho.

as well as a good crop of youth team players and some veterans the squad is perfectly balanced and i beleive next season we will be amazing.

all we need now is a left winger robben or reyes would do and thats it for us this season.

Exactly. Lets see: Casillas = as good as it gets, just about, and he's still very young, especially for a keeper. Ramos=, imo, one of the best D's in the world, very young (19 yrs old!), Diarra = imo, one of the best in his position and will probably be the best soon. Robinho = nuf said, Gago = tons of promise, very mature for his age, has played extremely well in his few games with us despite the pressure of playing for the best. Higuain = the same. Soldado, De La Red, etc. We have a full healthy crop of players to give us some joy for quite some time. We've moved past the Galactico phase where only superstars were being bought just for name sakes and moved into a new era with a balanced out squad, with future "Galacticos". I have a great feeling about this new project and it seems Schuster is the right man.

I'd switch Cassano for a pair of Adidas Predator Absolutes! I've always liked Solari. Solari for Cassano? Twist my arm.

We won todays game. 2-0 Raul and Soldado scored and we played very good. All the players got their time. De La Red was class! So was Soldado! Pepe was a beast! (superb!!) Saviola was great! Good game!

did you see the match? If so, where? Yea, I heard Pepe was great. Soldado converted a penalty and it's nice to see Raul score. I hope he returns to vintage form.

Schuster keen on Ballack

Schuster is a big admirer of his fellow German and would like to bring him to El Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid have held a long-term interest in Ballack, but lost out to Chelsea last summer for the midfielder's signature.

Ballack endured a difficult first season at Chelsea last term failing to live up to expectations and Jose Mourinho raised doubts over the German's future earlier in July by claiming Ballack could not guaranteed a place in his side.

Schuster, who is also chasing Chelsea's Arjen Robben, believes Ballack would be a suitable addition to the Real side.

"With his class, he fits perfectly to Real Madrid," Schuster told German public television station ARD.

"I can very well imagine him playing for my team.

"I thought about Michael before he went to Chelsea.

"He was linked with Real back then, when it was clear [Zinedine] Zidane was leaving.

"He would be the link between midfield and attack and would really be perfect."

Schuster also claimed Chelsea's asking price and Ballack's salary would not be a problem for Real.

It remains to be seen however, whether Chelsea would be willing to let Ballack move as they look to assemble a squad capable of wrestling the Premier League crown back from Manchester United next season.

He was a quality player then nothing worked out at Chelsea, as is the case many times when players switch leagues. Not sure if I want him. I'm stubborn and want Kaka, Cesc or Diego with us

i think ballack would be good for the short term, he is in his 30's.

he is a qulity player and would fit in perfectly to our system.

i think we should try for him this season, until we can get someone like nasri.

Cicinho threatens to quit the club if he doesnt play in his position! He was played as LB yesterday and was VERY VERY angry about it. He said that he doesnt want to play there a whole year. Schuster yesterday played Ramos as RB and Torres as LB in the first half. But the big one is. He played SALGADO as RB and Cicinho as LB in the second half. And that was something that Cicinho was angry about. And I give him all the right to be so. Salgado s*cks and deserves to get a free transfer. He was never great for us. He was at best good, but not great! So offload the guy and lets get over with this!

We apparently also struck a deal with Arsenal about Reyes for 9.2 mil! And according to some dutch sites, we have a deal with Chelsea about Robben and an agreement about Drenthe. Reyes should be presented on tuesday, and Drenthe and Robben on Wednesday.

Marca is really into Real these days (like forever :P). They say that we are after SAMIR NASRI!!! That would be sensational! The kid is fantastic! He can play as AMC and AML! I hope this is true! (I got him on my FM team too! Great player )

i think cicnho is taking a bit too serious, it was just a preseason game and there was now one who can play there.

slagado should leave, he isnt great anymore.

i think he has been a great payer for us over the years one of the best right backs to ever play for us, he is very underated, but i think he is getting too old for us now.

Salgado isnt underrated. He is an average player. Always was. If you look at the 2 wings over the past years. We've had Roberto Carlos who is the best LB ever and we've had Salgado. I mean the difference is BIG! Cicinho is better then Salgado ever was and should be our 2nd RB behind Ramos.

these last couple of years he has been ****e, but i think before that he was great, he could attack and wasnt bad of a defender either, and his drive and comitmment was always 100%.

yeah right now id prefer cicinho, but he still nedds to work on his defending and he would be a beast for us.

just cast ur mind back to the last game against mallorca i though he was one of the best if not the best players on the pitch.

wow, ballack would be awesome! He is a truly complete player, but I doubt we'd have a chance at him.

Why is salgado still on the team? The guy's been useless for the past few seasons

This Nasri guy sounds interesting. Never seen him play so I can't comment but the fact that he's young and everyone says he's the next Zizoumight be enough for me. Salgado's time should be up, Cicinho should be 2nd RB but he should be happy that he is getting paid up the @ss to play football and playing one match on the left side shouldn't warrant such a pissy attitude. We don't need that sh!t, we had too much of that with the garbage Galactico era. He needs to be a man, perhaps Schuster is trying all posibilities in case people get hurt left and right throughout the season. Maybe Schuster already has decided on Cicinho as the 2nd RB and that's why he needs to see him on the left?

Hopefully we can sign these 3 guys next week and find an AM....we'd be straight
