In the past i have listened to m and m, and this other guy called slim shady. I found their "music" more insulting than enjoyable, but, as HELP? rightly said, thats my opinion. Still, i remain curious as to how you ppl find it pleasurable.

Just a question this time. No need to bite my head off.

People don't listen to music only to calm and relax. You can't go crazy in a club to Bethoven for one and your frustrated emotions can't be complimented by Chaikovsky, can they?

Shinji, I suggest you re-read my post. I asked why you people like rap; your threats of 'shut up' are empty and unnecessary. If you feel like punching me and want me to shut up, so what, I'm not concerned at all. If we happened to pass each other on the street, you wouldn’t be able to recognise me, and I you. So why bother threatening me.
And as I said, there’s no need to bite my head off. Okay, so I made a mistake, I spelt eminems name wrong big deal.

We watch vile, vile pornography and want to replicate what we see on there. The only way we can do that is to make ourselves into genuine emotional time bombs.

I've also found that Toby Keith makes me more aggressive than Eminem, and I've only heard Toby once.

man, you Really need to open yours eyes on the world a bit more. Do you seriously not know how frustrating emotions arise? Like, you wonna know about some simple emotions like your girlfriend cheated on you with another guy or emotions like you were brought up in a bad neighbourhood, your dad is a drunk and your mom is a drug addict, you have no money no future nothing to hope for in the world at all?


Like i said, you don't know anything on the issue, so why are you trying to prove to others that it sucks and nobody should listen to it? When you hear rap, you are probably thinking about someone like Lil' Jon. If you don't know the issue, then leave it.

If you haven't noticed, the world is not a perfect place where everybody gets raised up in nice families with strong financial backgrounds, everybody gets to go to the best universities in the country and they all end up living a rich and merry life. But if you think that all the wars, fighting, racism, sexism, diseases and violence will stop when everybody starts listening to Bethoven, then you are way too far off the reality.


BTW, not all classical music calms a person down, they have their fair share of instrumentals that make a person aroused.

Actually, I'd advise you not to simply assume things and write them down. It might surprise you to know, though my case is not as extreme as above, i was not brought up in a 'well to do family'. i attended a **** school where kids went to eat their lunch, and i was barely expected to reach 5th form, let alone 7th form. Not even my parents believed in me. :boohoo: . Awaiting exam results now... hoping i get accepted into uni; gonna shove it in my parents face if i get there.

Well, i tried advising you guys not to listen to it, i mean i wouldnt want my kids listening to it. But then i thought what the heck. You have a freedom of choice, if you happen to like rap, go ahead listening to it; could even try making it, who knows you might get there.
But if you re-read my post at the top of the page, you'll find im no longer intersted in persuaing you not to listen to it, rather, im curious as to 'why you listen to it'

Anyway Jellyfish_Club, I'm curious as to whether you've ever been out to a club or even a fairly sizable party...

I'm just taking an educated guess, but I think you're under the impression that all music is supposed to mean something or evoke some kind of emotion in people? Sometimes people just want to go out and dance the night away or chill to something like mainstream rap music (I'm assuming you've only ever heard mainstream rap since you can't even spell 'Eminem' right), hence why it's popular and people listen to it.

exactly. all you've ever heard is mainstream crap, which the majority of is materialistic bullsh|t. however you can not judge a whole genre of music from one or two things you have heard. the more creative, positive, skillfull and better sounding hip-hop isnt selling therefore you dont hear it, but that doesnt mean you can dismiss it and place it in the same bag as hip-pop

I dont agree! Why is everyone sayin that mainstream is crap?? How can it be crap if it sells alot of records!? U cant say its crap just if u dont listen to it! U just dont have the same taste and that is it!

(Well what else did you expect me to assume, when you thought that anger emotions arise only from drugs and dropping out of school or from other crap being promoted by rap artists? I explained to you that they can arise from almost anything and that if you think that rap artists only promote drugs, money, bitches then you are waayyyyyy offf of knowing anything about rap.)

I mean I could understand if you were making fun or reggaeton which uses the same beat for every song and you can't understand a single word, but hip-hop is one of, if not the most, diverse genre of music out there.

Anyhow, people like you are a dime a dozen...and by people like you I mean the types who come around saying "rap is crap" but then use the worst examples out there to make their point. It's total ignorance.. The variety of hip-hop music out there is as diverse as rock or anything else. Yes, there's a lot of garbage out there in the rap world but lots of good, intellegent, and highly creative stuff too, that focus on politics, real-life issues, etc and not just dope, money, and bitches. To say it's all garbage based on what you see in your typical mainstream videos with the shallow gold chains, pimped out cars, etc is so narrow minded it's laughable.. that's like if I said "rock music is crap" because it's all Linkin Park and Nickelback See how stupid I'd sound?

I dont wanna listen to any more rap thanks. M and M, and that other bloke put me off. I dislike political garbage and and i see rap artists as people who pretend they've been through alot, but in reality, just wanna suck you into buying their crap. And it is crap, i ashore you, that once you get to a certain age you will begin to realise this, and perhaps listen to something decent, appreciating it for what it is, 'music'.
Again, as i mentioned earlier, this is my opinion. So dont bite my head off (that means u shinji); i have a right to express my opinion, and this is, after all, a forum.

By the way, that sovereign chiks pretty hot. I think i'll put her in my sig.
