Random Freezing Problem, WE8i

OK, i'm having some random freezing problem with WE8. The game doesn't freeze completely, only for about 30 seconds, then starts running again. I wasn't too bothered about it at first but now i've started playing online and its really annoyin because the opponent thinks i've disconnected and quits.

It usually happens once or twice during a match, and during loading, and when i change menus. It never happened with Pro Evo 4, so it wouldn't be system related, i have no idea what the problem is. Any help would be appretiated. Thanks.

Sorry i didnt reply, havent checked the technical forum for a while. Anyway, fixed it by disabling my anti-virus when i want to play, but it seems you managed to get it to work another way, so whatever caused the problem in the first place beats me.

What video card do you have?

Update: Changing the driver to "fast writes off" did not do the trick as I thought it had, however, as stated previously by Woodzy, disabling my anti-virus program did stop the freezing/looping problem.

Cheers. Fast writes didn't do it but switching off virus protection did.

Just have to remember to disconnect the modem before switching it off.

But now it's working. Funny how I got to May until actually playing Pro Evo 4! Must have been because of Football Manager 05.
