Great player, currently plays for Internacional. I haven't heard many rumours about him for a while, the last time I heard he was supposed to go to Corinthians, but that was after the end of last season's league and lasted until early this year...

He's had a bad head collision against another player in his most recent match and fainted, but I don't think it's anything serious... I'll try to find some more info and post here...

EDIT: Lancenet wrote he's supposed to move to Hamburg, for 8M euros. This offer is thought to be bigger than the ones from Corinthians and some Italian clubs that wanted him in January.

oh man he's not gonna be famous if he goes there :(

btw, is he better than Fred? I dont see anything special in Fred but he's in the WC squad!

Fred scored more goals when he was here, but they're different kind of strikers... I'd take Fred if it was between the two of them though...

As someone who has never seen either play, here's me condensing numerous pages of internet ramblings. Fred is a finisher, not necessarily the greatest player in the world, but he'll find a way to get the ball into the net.

Hamburg is a club on the rise and they're going to be in the Champions League next year, so any player who goes there is getting a GREAT opportunity. He'll be playing along side Rafael van der Vaart, which is definitely an honor. Too bad Van Buyten is comming to Bayern. Actually it's not bad, it's GREAT. But yeah, I wish Sobis the best and that he is the best player in the Bundesliga next season except for the two games he plays against Bayern.

Spot on Shifty, as usual...

Fred gets the job done, and is a reliable goal scorer. He's in the NT because of Ricardo Oliveira's unfortunate injury, but he'll be good to have in the squad with Ronaldo and Adriano off form...

Sobis on the other hand is a quick forward that creates a lot of problems for his marker. Maybe he's a bit on the weak side though....

You're right Sheva, Fred isn't nearly cool enough. To all the Brazilians, my name is Daniel, what would my Brazilian pseudonym be? Daninho? That sounds cool. Is there some other nickname for Daniels? I'm sure there are Brazilians with that name since it's a solid Catholic Biblical name.

Lots of Daniels around here... though none of them are called Daninho :p

Actually, daninho would be quite negative, as we call weed (not what you're thinking, I mean the unwanted weed in a farm) "erva daninha".

The most common nickname for Daniel would be Shifty or Dani (though Dani does have a more feminine touch to it, as it's more used as short for Daniela, a female name).

Yeah, nothing exciting... sorry Shifty... Shifty... whatever...

Damn. I already go by Shifty, I was hoping the Brazilians would have some great nickname for me. And you're right, Dani sounds a little feminine.
