It's 2-1 to United in the 66th minute. Basel have been the better side so far, but United are showing signs of hitting their stride. Two goals within a minute of each other from Ruud van Nistelrooy have put United ahead after Christian Gimenez scored in the 30th second. Come onUnited!!!!!!!

EDIT: It's 3-1 now!!!!!! Only 8 minutes ago United were 1-0 down!!! They must be careful and not throw this lead away like they so nearly did at the weekend

I just cannot believe what I am freaking seeing right now. We've been looking at a 0-1 scoreboard for 60 mintues. And all of a sudden we're 3-1 up! We've switched from 5-4-1 to 4-4-2. I've said it in the Liverpool - ManUtd preview thread already, if we play like that we're scoring goals and winning games.

But man can you believe it. We're switching to 4-4-2 and 3 minutes later we're 2-1 up thanks to red-hot f*cking Ruud van Nistelrooij and 6 minutes after that we're 3-1 up thanks to Ole! Crespo, Raul, Ronaldo my a$s. The name is Van Nistelrooij. Ruud van Nistelrooij. God he's good.

I agree with you on the luck part - it looks like United's luck might be changing now. Who knows - by the New Year, we could actually have half a squad

And it's all over. United should learn from this match and play 4-4-2 on a regular basis. Big ups to Ruud van Nistelrooy - in the right place at the right time as usual, and I think United will now be on top of their group. But it's early days, and Juventus and Deportivo are not going to let United off easily with wasteful finishing. A win is a win though

With all respect, we were lucky that Basel didn't scoer anymore goals. True. But ManUtd scoring three goals in 8 minutes really isn't, believe me.
