Quick question regarding a technique.

I'd really like to use the 'curved ray' technique that Wojtala used in this sig of his:



...but he has not responded to my PM's.
I was wondering whether anyone knows how I would be able to create this. Would I have to use a certain type of pre-made image for this, or does it maybe involve adding a glow to a line drawn using the pen?

..forget it, I figured this out myself. Props to Wojtala, though, for a very creative technique.

Anyway, this is what I ultimately managed to come up with from the inspiration from that sig:
