Ok i've been living in canada for the past 8 years and i'm sick about the lack of soccer on cable tv. I was wondering how do you guys watch soccer? Satellite dish? How much? Where to get it? How to install it? I don't wanna have to be going to bars to watch soccer and the the only descent soccer matches i get is tape delayed on fox sports world and the champs league on tsn other than that nothing execpt for now that sportsnet got the celtic playing manu on tuesday. Any help on how I could get myself a good chann like Univision, TeleFutura, Galavision, Telemundo and even ESPN would be GREAT!

Thanks in advance:mrpimp:

if you have a digital box, call up your provider and ask if you can order any of those channels.

I had Fox Sports World, but it was ****ing horrible. You'd find out the result of a game and watch it 4-5 days later, and they'd just cover the EPL SPL and Brazilian leagues the most. Idiots.

So im in your position, i need to find out what i can order to see the games. The only thing besides a digital box or satelite that i know is on sportsnet, but thats on at like 6am on saturdays, and i cant do that ****.

You don't want ESPN for soccer...they'd show powerboat racing over soccer

I'd say get one of those big ass Satellite dishes that get mad channels.

I see that you're a Gremio fan, well then I strongly recommend the satellite I got (I forget what it's called... I'll find out though). I get 2 Brazilian channels, Globo and Record. Globo shows tons of Brazilian league games and always has soccer shows on....LIVE! Shame RTPi (Portuguese channel) isn't the same.

If you like Premiership, Serie A, Bundesliga, MLS.. then Bell ExpressVu's pretty good. You get lots of English and Italian games and one or two German games live. They also show Brazilian soccer, but never live, always one or two day delays..

Fox Sports World i think is a great channel for canadians to have. You can see EPL, Brazilian League, 3rd choice Spanish league games, German Bundes Liga, Argentinian League and SPL. Plus they show the off-season tournaments for national teams, like Confed Cup, they show EURO and WOrld Cup but only after it is finished, since CTV SPortsnet and TSN buy usually that kind of rights. So, here are the leagues i can watch:
CTV Sportsnet:
EPL
TSN:
Champions League
Teleitalia:
Seria A
ITaly national team games
UEFA Cup games with italian teams only
FSW:
more EPL:rockman:
SPL
Spanish League
Bundes Liga
Argentina league
Brazilian league
A-Lague
MLS
Indor Soccer sometimes
And the main aspect is that in the news they cover all the highlites of their leagues plus Mexico league, Dutch league, Seria A, French league, Champions League, UEFA Cup and Copa Libertadores
And the last one is ESPN Classic:
Shows all the historic FA Cup finals, once a week, everyweek. but i doubt that you really would want that.

There are a lot of soccer fields in Canada don't worry. Some of them may not be well maintained but you can play on it. Canada may be known as a hockey country but "soccer" is the sport that is the most played by young Canadian people.:rockman:

Whats the most popular sport in Canada? :o

(No surprise if its not soccer, but if soccer is starting to take its toll on the youth, it will be big in the future fo sho! :rockman:).

TSN shows live & taped Champions League matches; Rogers Sportsnet shows live & taped English Premier League matches, as well as... any international match involving the women's or men's Canadian teams (:/); there's FoxSportsWorld which I have on Digital Cable, and it shows tons of soccer, 90% of which are taped

You never heard of Hockey(ice hockey)?

I hope soccer(football) comes close to hockey in the future because the canadian national team sucks(well, their not that good).

Yeah I watch TLN for the seria A games, but I really wanna be able to watch the brazilian national team games, friendlies, gold cup, copa america etc etc....TSN has only showed one friendly and it was 3 yrs ago I think it was Brazil and Germany. As for the women soccer :crazyboy: i don't even try to watch it, cuz really my 3 yr old brother has got more skills than most of those girls....

Yeah, i predict that in 15 years it will be the most popular, hopefully. Although football have been taking toll in the youth for a ling time i think, but mostly when kids get to high school either, they forget about it and don't play anywhere or their parents usually make them play their favourite sports like baseball and american football. Although thanks to asians, football is becoming more popular here, since they come everyday to Canada and big thanks to yugos for realistically starting football in Canada and making people actually play it.

Hey, ogsimon: where in canada are you coming? And i think that there should be enough fields in almost every city for you to find, since there are loads of them and the best thing about it is that mostly it was a frame and lots of green grass!:hump: , unlike in europe where kids have to play in dirt:( . So, unfair.

I watch TLN for Serie A games, and for the Western Union World Soccer Report. And i watch Rogers Sportsnet for the Premier League games. I used to have rogers digital cable...but its a rip-off.
