Probably another heavy transition period coming up for us.

City or Chelsea (if Mourinho goes back) will win the league next year.

United will recover but I can't see them having success without him immediately (though I could be wrong) simply because he carries such a mystique about him.

I miss him! He made me mad, I don't give a crap about these other managers.

what I can see is that this is the second manager who announces his retirement after being defeated by a Chelsea interim manager

I think Moyes will move to ManU and keep them competitive but he won't win the title first time. Everton will probably drop drastically in the table. Fellaini and Baines will probably leave and they simply don't have the funds to get a better manager. Might not be sudden, but they will gradually become a midtable, perhaps even lower, club. City, Chelsea and Spurs are gonna invest heavily to try and push ManU out of the top stops now that they're shaking. I actually think that this makes it more likely that City dump Mancini (although stability for a year when Chelsea and ManU will be going through major changes might be good for them).

I'd like to see what happens with the ManU squad. Fergie and the club had become the same thing, and the players will probably stay for next season, but once they see that things are really different a bunch of them might jump ship. I fully expect whoever's manager to finally plug that hole in midfield, which will help ManU keep a high level for a while.

I doubt that it will be that bad, but it will be interesting. I hope we don't end up like Liverpool haha.

On to topic, this will change the dynamic of the EPL for years to come. I don't see Moyes getting a title for them, and I can picture United going thru a long dry spell. Now, this will probably will give City a chance to takeover, that's if they play their cards right, and sticking with Mancini would be the start, only because he knows the team and players.
