Question for those who have played multiple seasons.

After completing my first season and putting my players through some hardcore training, and I've now answered my own question.

Off Season training and the blue line are the key. If you can train you player enough to make the blue line face up his stats will increase in matches.

Example: Salgado
He has a straight red line for the next few years, so his stats will not progress regardless of how much he plays. Now if you train him in the Off Season and get the light-blue line to rise, his stats will increase in matches.

So I think with a little dedication I can get any players stats to go up.

You can only train players in the offseason. It's easy, but tedious.

gerrard is a bit of a let down after a few seasons, hes 28 on mine and his stats have gone down considerably, how unrealistic is that

The training during regular season is just to regulate condition. Only training in the Off Season raises stats.

bascially, every week before your first league game, do that training, it will keep em that bit fitter.

Well dude I have found that it is how you play with each individual player........I have played 6 seasons so far and most of the older players and players I rarely use drop stats quickly

I have also found that some players stop developing around the age of 25 and up.....

Fabregas- he sucked when I started with him he is now 23 and in my starting line up, he has potential to be the best MF to ever play at this rate

Vieria- believe it or not he is 32 and hasnt dropped one stat. In fact before he got to that age he actually got better

Players who dropped stats cause of aging. They get tired quicker too so you have to rotate them with the youngsters

Henry,31 still the best though
Pires,37 Damn this guy hasnt retired?
Lljunberg 32 dropping stats
Campbell-32
Toure- 27 dropped offensive stats
Lauren-32 sucks now

Here is a list of my youngsters who I have developed into being MONSTERS on the field...............

Reyes- 25 no longer can be developed but is still a monster

VanPerse-26- still developing and can play in almost any offensive position

Owusu-abeyie- This kid sucked when i first started my league but now he might be as good as Henry if he keeps scoring goals

Clichy- is now better the ashley cole in his prime, still dev.

Hoyte- is also better than lauren in his prime, still dev.

I also have ALOT of youngsters currently in trainning..........

My point of typing all this is that EVERY player is different......and they will eventually start to drop after reaching thier peak.............Vieria is a perfect example of how an older player can still play good at 32

PS- I have also found that you do not need to "TRAIN" any player at the end of seasons either..........

Fabregas I never trained at all...........All I did was sub him in a couple of games and started him in all the League Cup games, and occasionaly a league game...........

Training for me was a wast of time. It's only good for Free kick and defensive development.......I developed all my players in off season with the pre season matches

I got Spurs into the Champions League, so during the off season I bought an ageing Zidane (now 33) for 29 million for the new season. At first I thought I got conned, but then I checked his development sheet and his red bar doesn't drop even at the age of 45!, my advice would be to buy Zidane, his stats will never decrease. :rockman:
