When we test your patches -can we just install over the old patch? or do we need to uninstall the whole game!?(I hope not !)

Hey RicFlair,

My update comes with an uninstall option, in which you will be able to install my next update or Biggy's depending if you want to try out the different style of updates available. Do not worry, v5 has everything covered! You won't need to reinstall anything mate.

Since all these 'patches' do are replace two files - CONFIG.DAT and INI.BIG - both of which actually contain multiple .INI files, then there is no requirement to do anything other than install the new version. You might want to perform an uninstall of the previous gameplay update just to keep your Add/Remove Programs list clean, however.

What Steve Pitts said is exactly the right thing. so for everybody who is reading this: if you want to make sure that your FIFA 06 game dose not get ruined by any of our gameplay patches then back up the following files:

(you can back up either by changing there names to XXXX.bku or XXXXbku.dat or to whatever name that is different than the original)

1. "config.dat" : (Default location is: C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 06)
2. "ini.big" : (Default location is: C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 06\data\cmn)

And that's all. the problem with the uninstall option that NK has is that if you uninstall then the 2 files mentioned above are removed leaving you with no config.dat nor ini.big, which will cause some problems when starting the game the next time, so the best thing to do is to back up, install any patch as many times as you want and from as many people as you want, then whenever you get bored from our gameplays and want to return to the original, just delete the 2 files that hold the names mentioned above and return the backed up items to their original names.

You can always get any missing files from your original FIFA 06 CD's or DVD.

Enjoy the game, and take care, we always try our best and we hope to give you a different taste for FIFA 06 in the safest way.

Peace! :)

Indeed, this is a problem with my update. V5 won't have this problem :)
