Sorry but I don't get it. At first I heard it was because of sponsors, fair enough. But recently, a local TV station aired something on the shirt lifting offence, they said that as long as the shirt does not go over the head it is acceptable.
Even if you don't lift your shirt over your head, you're going to cover the sponsors. So how are the sponsors involved in any way?
Then I read somewhere it had something to do with not wanting players to reveal messages on another shirt they're wearing inside or something. Now how is that the case? If FIFA really wanted to stop players from doing that, they should ban shirt lifting all together, not just shirt lifting over the head.
I dunno how clear I made myself but yeah.. Pretty confusing stuff if you ask me..
