Question about MLS

shy_guy329

Youth Team
is it American teams only (is there a rule?)? in mlb, nba and nhl there are some Canadian teams.

If a Canadian city wants to play in the mLs , will they be allowed?

if yes, why the hell hasn't a Canadian city applied for mls? :kader:

They wouldn't be allowed to be in it because they don't have enough fans, they have several teams in the A-League like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.
Even though Montreal is the best in the league right now, i think montreal is the only team to get decent attendence around 6-9 thouasand a game.

I wish Canada had some MLS teams specially here in Nova Scotia i would defeneitly be a supporter :)

And about CSL i think that league is crap worste than A-league i think they play on crappy fields and maybe around 1 thousand fans per game..

There's no point.

If a team from canada qualifyed for the CONCACAF champions cup then FIFA wouldn't allow them to play.

I dont think it would happen because all but two of the players are american. I don't think that canadians would want to support a team with such strict rules.

I doubt there would be enough general support in Canada, minus a couple places. I'm old enough to still remember when the Vancouver Whitecaps used to draw huge crowds and were very popular back in the early 80's during the NASL days.. I think that an MLS team could also be successful in Toronto, especially with Toronto being such a multi-cultural city. If they were to have a team and sign a couple players from places like Portugal, Italy, Greece, etc. I think it would draw local crowds. The old NASL did this and did great (for a while..) by luring great players like Pele, Eusebio, and others during the last couple years of their careers.
