QotW: Best managerial performance ever to get relegated

Marco Silva's Hull going down today despite the wonderful job he has done in very difficult circumstances has led me to think about what other managers covered themselves in glory despite leading their club to relegation.

Examples that occur to me from the premier league include Ian Holloway joking and surprising his way through an excellent (but not quite good enough ) Blackpool campaign, and Avram Grant taking Portsmouth to the FA cup final in the year they got relegated thanks to a points deduction.

May 2000: Hasselbaink Silver Boot. King's Cup Runners-Up. Relegated.

A combined effort of 3 managers: Ranieri, Antic, and Zambrano.

I'm sure they covered themselves in something, glory or otherwise. Antic especially, since he went on to coach Barcelona. I don't know all the details. Still an incredible season to be relegated in.
