I've just changed from PS2 to Xbox and have issues regarding which controller to use.
Options;
1) Stupid huge clunky Xbox controller with white/black buttons at top. I think not.
2) S-type controller with white/black buttons at bottom. It's very awkward to dash with black button using the underneath of your thumb or using the centre of your thumb and then trying to use another button quickly.
3) Get a Logic 3 Inferno (or similar) with white/black buttons being doubled up on the shoulder (so far so good), BUT above the triggers (which act as L1 and R2).
4) Get a converter and use my PS2 controllers.
My first thought was 4, so I bought one. Problem is, and Konami, how could you do this, the strategy button (L2 on PS2) will only map to white or black. This means 1 and 2 are extremely awkward and means that 3 would only map L1 to L2 and vise-verse.
The irony is that this exact same mis-mapping is what you get using a PS2 converter. I didn't manage to map all of the other PS2 functions properly (in a rush to return the converter to the shop in adject disappointment) but I'm sure they do.
Does anyone know whether this is as close as you can get with Xbox?
I'm thinking that as both options 3 and 4 mean swapping (and re-learning) L1 and L2, then as I have four PS2 controllers with extensions, I may as well not bother with anything Xbox and stick with what I have and just get converters.
If anyone has experience of moving from PS2 to Xbox I'd be really grateful for any comments.
Incidentally, the xbox loads so quickly, graphics are similar-ish and the slowdown having gone completely has made it like a whole new game.
