PS2 gamespeed low??

I am hearing people say the gamespeed for ps2 is realy really slow and it cant be changed is this true.

Dunno what the PS2 one is like, but the X-Box one is fairly slow (compared to older versions). In fairness though, even at this speed, I'm struggling to keep the ball and turn on off the ball runs...
