PS2 Fifa 2004 where are the custom cup and leagues???

I have been playing Fifa since its first appearance many years ago and cant believe how backwards the game gets in some of the most important parts of it.

For the last couple of games I have written to EA about the fact that having custom leagues and cups makes for a whole better multi playing game than having a multi tap with 8 of you playing in one game.

Custom leagues are made for a group of Fifa lovers to gather put in £10 and play in a league with your own teams not having to bother playing the computer and winning £80 quid at the end of it.

Me and me mates used to do it with Sencible Soccer on the mega drive, then on the original PS, but now it has just been forgotten.

We still have the odd tournament up our local football club on the 54 inch TV BUT I have to write out the fixtures and results and your only ever playing friendlies so if a player gets sent off it doesnt carry or if a players injured then for the next game there still playing as theres no continuation.

If theres any others who feel the same add your pounds worth.

I also agree 110%. My favourite pastime is playing fifa all day with my mate in my room on the big tv. Having no custom tournaments sucks!!!

Its ridiculous. Hopefully they will realize this. By the way will the creation center allow u to make them on pc at least? Hope so.

Totally agree. They have removed the best feature of the entire game. And the worst thing is that I cannot understand why??? It should'nt take to much programming to put this option back in the game...

But I also notice that most people doesn't complain about this. In fact I think I'm the only one who have mentioned this before this thread. So perhaps most FIFA-players doesn't have friends...

I also totally agree. It is absurd that they have taken away this single most imortant feauture.

In fact, EA asks the game producer Pierre Hintze about this in the intervew published on their website, and his answers are really confusing;

"EA SPORTS: Any new additional leagues or players? What about custom tournament capability - any changes there?

Pierre Hintze: Absolutely, but I don’t won’t to bore you with numbers here. Let’s just say: “With FIFA, we aim to be the most comprehensive soccer product out there”. We will have more leagues, teams and players than any other title, by a wide margin. "

Later in the interview:

"EA SPORTS: Will we see the same sort of Club Championship feature, where the big clubs are highlighted and given more depth?

Pierre Hintze: Partially. We decided to continue our focus on the major clubs but we merged the Club Championship Tournament together with out custom tournament feature. We felt that this would help us to bring this area of the game a bit more to the foreground, considering it’ll allow the user to re-create pretty much any major soccer tournament of the world."

Are there or are there not cutom tornaments??

Does anyone know how where to contact EA about this?

You can edit the current tournaments to have whatever teams you want in them.

Also can you edit the tournament name and can you pick more then one player team in the tournament?

Hello All

Good to know im not the only one pissed of with the crap EA keep handing out.

I dont want to play against computer teams all the time I want like it was if you had 6 of ya you could have a league of just 6 and only play each other once. i could go on all day about how its not as good as it could be but will leave it, just have to try and move all me mates over to pro evolution which is a better game I think.

keep on posting your complaints as there are many.
