pro evo on 360

A week ago I got Xbox 360 with pro evo 5, but the game was slow on 360... I guess it waz cuz the disk was damaged and that it was 2nd hand one...

is it the correct reason why?

also, does it put you off that there is no l2 and r2 like there is on ps2 and pc?
