i rented pro evo at the weekend, and did not feel it is worthy of all the praise it gets. What really annoyed me was the foul system and the referees, both were useless and that somewhat ruined the game for me. If i tackled i would get booked or sent off, even if i got the ball on some occasions. Yes Fifa has its limits as i have seen from the demo - long shots going in too easily, CPU AI always scoring the same way, but it is FIFA i will be buying, not Pro Evo. ALSO PRO EVOS MASTER LEAGUE IS RUBBISH, ABSOLUTE KAK, i could not be bothered to start one becos it just did not appeal to me.

PRO EVOS ONLY SAVING GRACE IS THAT 2 PLAYER MATCHES WERE FUN, AND THE FINISHING IS EXELLENT. OTHER THAN THAT, I WAS NOT OVERLY IMPRESSED, DOES ANYONE AGREE?

Yeah was released last week on PS2. I really enjoyed PES1, didnt like PES2, PES3 is an improvement, but i still don't rate it all that much and don't understand why people think its so amazing, especially with teams called Trad Bricks (Man United) and Lloyd (Man City), what a joke

yeh it's FIFA all the way for me, i enjoyed Fifa 03, and still play it with mates now and then, and played a season with Chelski a month ago, i got good value out of it, despite its annoying problems, hopefully most of them are solved in 04, really looking forward to its release on PS2

who cares about team and player licences, match options and such... Most important thing is the gameplay. PES has better passing, better shooting, better crossing, better physics, better everything.

thats what you think, i disagree, i didnt think the gameplay was that great to be honest, and the lack of licenses and poor graphics n sound just added to it, its not an enjoyable game, i drew 0-0 9 games in a row, thats crap n boring, i want games to be close, but goals need to be scored!!!!!!!!

lol, off we go into the PES vs FIFA forum again
So good gameplay = me being able to score lots of goals...try lowering the difficulty till you get used to the game..if your ego can cope.
Play football, kick and rush will get you nowhere in PES. When defending, like any coach will tell you, don't dive in.. crunch someone with a slide tackle and you'll get booked, simple as that.

lol this guys are great they play a couple of hours pes3 and want to master it. then they think pes3 its not a game its a virtual close do sexual experience, and since they dind´t get an orgasm... the game sucks.
guys before you start saying the game sucks play at least a week with difrent teams and difrent dificulty then you will be able to say what you want until then your opinion sucks

ok then, ive been playing it for a while, since pes2 just came out, i also played iss3 for the PC, horrible horrible port ...

and i know for a fact pes aint all that, and its coming from someone who played a long time,

its good, its a good game. dont get me wrong, but it has its annoying lil things too, like the thru ball ;)

ive yet to try pes3 but i will soon, and i know for a fact it wont be a huge improvement,

but back to the point, its not all that, and gameplay is not what only matters, its the whole package, and for me fifa 2004 seems to have the best package, mor worthy of 50 USD from my pocket...

i dont want to score lots of goals. the stupid thing was, playing PES on level 2 was so bloody easy, and the step up to level 3 was stupidly hard, even getting shots away was a victory. i played the game a lot, and i wont be playing it a lot again, cos it dissapointed me, i wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and didnt learn anything, it left me mystified. my friend who i played the game with totally agrees with the ref thing, u wanna make tackles, ur supposed to be enjoying urself, the games supposed to be fun, but making one tackle that wasnt even that bad and getting sent of was a load of rubbish. there is no common sense in the AI of the ref and it cant be changed.

i agree with the through ball system aswell, it is near to impossible to use and doesnt actually work! PES3 is a good game, but it is not AMAZING, and is certainly not as far ahead of FIFA as everyone sed, not on gameplay, not on anything. As a package, as an enjoyable experience, FIFA 2004 is the game to go for.

Wierd cause my tackles in WE7 (jap pes3) don't usually result in cards unless i know i did it intentionally. Are you sure you aren't trying the do sliding tackles all the time? In WE or PES, only use sliding tackles when u know u're sure to get the ball.

Sometimes, pushing when fighting for headers also results in fouls. In PES3, you also get handballs so probably it happened but u didn't know it.

I respect everyone's opinions but I don't understand why some people chooses either Fifa 2004 or PES3. Why not get both??

I think the master league is pretty silly, but hey, what can you come out with that last a long time, and with so little club teams available in the game?? I admit that i don't play the master league but I play those normal leagues.

I also hate fake names but thank god for patches. :)

All I got to say is I got FIFA 2003 and Winning Eleven around the same time and for awhile I was playing both but I must say to me FIFA is alot better... I just cant play a game that has fake players and fake teams, etc... I mean why cant Winning Eleven or PES get FIFA, team, and player license.

Wow sum of u fifa fans are real freakin lazy. U CAN EDIT OR DOWNLOAD opition files that corrects all names and kits. SOme of u really sicken me. IM playin on 5 stars and win games 3-0 and of course i loose sum. GOd u people just wanna win every single match u play. And why in the hell is this still posted in the fifa forum

in the end i cudnt trust myself with tackling at all, so i didnt do anything, just ran into them, but slide tackles are a heavy part of the game, and not being able to do them regularly restricted how good the game cud be. i also dont like the shooting system in PE3 - the lighter u press the button, the harder the shot - it all seems weird, and the long range shots are feeble

well im just speaking for ps2 and you cant download names and kits so... FIFA is king.
