OK, if this guy will release a patch - I will buy him a cigar.
He won't - it was a hoax, i'm sure of it. If not, it's the most mismanaged product launch in the history of the world. Zero publicity and zero evidence that it exists. This guy couldn't sell weapons grade plutonium to Osama:

Prem patch
Just got a reply from Steve Morris regarding the prem patch. I say lets wait and see if the proof is in the pudding and if the pudding is worth eating before we start another slanging match. Yeah I guess he didnt go about it the right way and yes he did insult the Wolf etc which wasnt very wise considering we are the people who are gonna use and possibly fund further updates and there was some very suspicious questions asked but if iv'e been fooled then it was a nice dream. Anyway here is the reply I received
Thank you for your responce to our proposed Prem patch, this patch is now complete and will be up for download later today.....please note we will be attempting to re-enter the soccerforums to post the link for this upgrade, due to all the abuse we recieved by highlighting this patch we decided it would be better for all if we did not post until the file was ready.....please be aware that this patch will be around 283mb in size, snd therefore is really intended for users who have high speed connections.....however we are looking into breaking the files into smaller packages, but the first release will be the complete file.
We hope to have to upgrade ready for download sometime later today....for something we have worked on for so long we are very exited about the responce, so we are trying as fast as we can to honour our release date....

No it says in the post that he is gonna post to the messageboard
283 mb of what? data_x.afs would not fit to that size with any compressing and if it's seperated to several files, which means that we should import the files with afs explorer and which also means it'll take light years to complete so, then I'd prefer a jump from eiffel tower instead.

Further episodes of the Genesis saga.
I sent an e-mail asking for a link to the patch as it didn't appear on the site march 12th as promised here is the reply.
The upgrade was released 12th March 2004.
we will post the link as soon as the traffic slows down, at present we are experiencing problems with downloads, just too many people!!!!...with the release of WEI we have been working on the same patch for the dat file of WEI...reports back so far from users of the current PE3 UK Premier patch have been very encouraging hence why we are working on the upgrade for WEI...
please be aware we are very busy at present, we not only work on data, but we produce animations for current games so our time is spread over many projects.
Please be aware that there is a `password protection` on the zip file so it will require £1.04 to activate the patch, this is backed up by an internal 15 digit serial number for the install.
we have a secure site and all transactions are dealt with personally.

I have a slight concern that when the patch was announced and in subsequent posts it was said that the first patch would be free so we could evaluate your work but now it seems that you are charging money albeit a small amount. How would this money be collected and can I view some screen shots of your patch.

This is suspicious but i am still giving the guy the benefit of the doubt although I am now having thoughts that the "small" hmm charge is going to be collected by credit card which could be a nice earner or once you get the unlock code there is going to be a video of a big burly man with his arse cheeks spread and him winking with his ringpiece. Call me suspicious (or sick lol) but it dont smell right.

How on earth can the site be overloaded with traffic? How did all these people find his site?? Has anyone seen mention of this ANYWHERE? If this thing existed and the demand was so high, then it would be mentioned on one of the high profile PES sites. And the moment somebody played it and saw it was so great, don't you think they'd be shouting from the rooftops about it?!
This is such bulls**t it's absurd. The implication now that you have to pay before even seeing any proof this thing exists is just laughable.
And if these guys are so damn clever that they can work with the source code of this game and turn it into something so fantastic, how come they can't sort a decent web site out for their 'patch'?

Yeah, my (along with AndyL and Kibble) patch might not be the best in the world but at least we delivered it!
