Predetermined matches (?)

Do you ever get the feeling that you are going to lose certain games no matter what tactics you use and who is in your team selection for the game? Example:

I have already wraped up the Premiership for the season and have not conceded more than two goals in any match. I have also won this season's league cup (as Liverpool). The Champions league final is just under two weeks away and I am in that also. Last season was a clean sweep and I am hoping for another. It's F.A cup final day. Bristol City are my opponents. All my stars, guys who ALWAYS perform are 100% fit (or close to) and I have beaten Bristol City EVERY TIME that I've played them (14 times). By half time I am 3-0 up. By the time the game is over I have lost 4-3. In disbelief I look at their team sheet, thinking that maybe they have some new superstar that I've not heard about. Nope. I look through the team and they are all crap. F*CKING BOLLOCKS!! this should not happen and is a major flaw in the game as far as I am concerned. I know that upsets happen in real football, but when random results happen in a game which is based on a database and decisions taken it makes the whole thing seem a little pointless as far as I'm concerned.
Anyone else have a similar experience? :(

Players never seem to btoher playing as well as they could after they have won the title. I have always found that. I've never had problems with people in the Cups unless they don't have the skill required to play in a big match. I've had a similar problem. I beat Celta Vigo at their stadium in a UEFA cup Semi-Final 3-0 on the return leg at Filbert Street They whiped the floor with me 4-0. I had a few good performances but allot of the players especially the keeper were playing a 4. I couldn't believe it. :f***:

Every time a change is made the game "createz" the rest of the game. So basicaly it is predetermined, but things after every change u made are different

Even given that though mixafendis, a team of 100% fit superstars should be able to beat a team of 'crappards' in a cup final, and certainly shouldn't EVER lose a three-nil advantage to a sh*tty team such as the aforementioned. And Liam....pisses you off when it happens doesn't it.:)

It's all to do with ambition, I reckon.

My Southampton side is relatively young but really full of ambition.

2 league titles later and a Champions League final came out of nothing. Celtic beat us 3-0. Michael Owen scored twice. Prick!

Still, it's 'against the odds' stuff.

Maybe, but my squad is 'Real Madrid' strong, so it's just WRONG damnit! :crazyboy: The real piss off was that as I said I was going for a second straight clean sweep, and ended up winning the Champions League, so Bristol f*cking City of all teams prevented that happening. wrong I say!.....wrong! :kader: :crazyboy:

By 2012, I've found that there's only ONE footballing super-power.

At the moment, it's Celtic. Real Madrid now only have 8 players in their squad. They still do decently in Europe but a 4-0 hammering I dished out in pre-season, shows they're way off what they used to be.

Last year, they failed to get past the Qualifying stages of the CL. This year, they're in no European competitions. Oh, I tell a lie. They're are first seeds in the CL.

Even half of Roma's squad is depleted. They have to beat Sofia to get into the Champions League proper.

Finally, to PSV. They too have to qualify for the Champions League and just had a goalless draw against Sturm Graz.

Celtic's squad is painful to look at. They've continued buying England stars and young talents. It's a side full of experience and talent.

Rangers are also following Celtic's example. Wayne Rooney is their star player and they've got good old Stephen Warnock. They seem to opt for Scottish talent more than their rivals. Playing them last season proved a difficult thing to watch. As I thumped them 5-1.

The top 4 managers in the World all manage in Britain.

Martin O'Neill, Glenn Hoddle, Arsene Wenger and David O'Leary all lead the way. This seems slightly backward as Man Utd haven't won a trophy for 5 years. They've finished runners up in the UEFA Cup and CL, in recent years, mind.

Meanwhile, I just have a 'Good' reputation. Having finished runners-up to Celtic in last years CL. My 6 trophys are dwarfed by Hoddle's tally of 13. This includes 3 European trophies.

Ok my experience wasn't in a Cup final... but I was 4-0 up by half time and then the match ended 4-4... after the match I looked at my players' fitness and they were like 97% which means they didn't show up for the second half! they wouldn't run for the ball, wouldn't go in for the challenges and stuff like that
I was managing Liverpool too and was playing some mid-table side after I had won the title

Hoddle has 13 trophies! HAHAHAHA! must have found himself a better psychic and faith healer. In my game it's the same as yours, with the British managers leading the reputation table. Myself followed by David O' Leary, Jocky Scott (!!) and Martin O' Neill. It is a little more logical in my game though as English clubs have won the CL for the past five seasons.

As for footballing superpowers in 2015 I'm leading the way with the mighty reds. 34 trophies so far. Sounds like you're gathering strength with Southampton also. Financial situation a little better now then?

As for Kibe Kru's comments, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one. :)

Oh, aye my finances are pretty sorted. £40m.

Wage bill tops £1m a month. As a last resort I could shift Hadzimehmedovic (god forbid) for £8m. Andy Cox is getting offers of £13m.

It shouldn't come to that, though.

the only predetermined matches I know of are whenever I face Roma I know I'm gonna lose (most of the time, unless I'm lucky) and when I face Inter, I know I'm gonna win (most of the time, unless they're lucky) :p

Oooooooh, shat. Newcastle are throwing £5.5m at Wayne Cartright. He's too much of a prospect to sell but the bugger's getting bitchy.

On top of that, a £11m bid for Matt Richards has sent him doolally. I can sell one of my midfield and I probably will. Back to predetermined stuff.......

I lost to Crystal Palace. Not pleased. Plus Leeds are tough to face. They don't seem to bother with the Charity Sheild, mind. Might make this my last season at the Saints. I'd like to finish with some silverware. More of it, I mean.

CM0102 doesnt predetermine matches, there will be nothing in the code that actually says that it does. CM just relies on various different things when doing matches, people who just believe its about tactics and what players you have are wrong, however, on the most part these have the largest effect. But every so often other things will all conspire as one to form a big sledge hammer agaisnt the big team. Things like all your big players 'fail' their important matches rating, or the ambition of the smaller clubs players is amazingly high. Its the reason why sometimes you're a big club sailing at the top of the premiership and suddenly 20th place comes along and beats you at home, its all cos more than one little things join together in a kind of unlucky spiral. It can happen in real life aswell. CM doesnt DO pre-determined matches. End of story

TROD.
