At last we can upload goals and matches to show others.
Many of us waited for this. I know the_man, who is very good at this game, searched for ages to upload his matches. I am looking forward to them, because now there is a place:
ftp://sg-corner:[email protected]/
Awax, thanks for it; you are a blessing for us :D

I immediately made use of it and uploaded my Argentina-Bulgaria match, played with WE7I Japanese, level 5.
You can find it on the FTP under Arg-bul.avi
Of course I am interested in your comments about it ;)

Yes matches are big, nothing I can do about it, unless somebody can tell me how to make that file smaller without losing quality.
Maybe Sim can tell me? He used a program called powerproducer from Pinnacle but that it DVD oriented so I can't use that :(

Currently downloading yer match vid Han, (tad slow 6kb/s on my broadband connection but it'll finish), looking forward to it me self. ;) I fancy myself as a scout like, noting down a person's playing style and learning things which I can incorporate into my own game to improve.

@Awax : Walk on mate :ewan:

That is a bit slow, yes, my upload-speed was around 26 kb/sec.
Funny thing is that I am scout myself at my amateur-footballclub; I analyse the next opponents for our first team :)

I've just d/lded it and I have to say it's very bad quality unfortunately :(

- some guy who recorded a match before you (example.wmv), made the same lenght movie with much better quality and sound and it takes only 33 Mb
- your movie is the same lenght but without sound, poor quality and takes 48 Mb

maybe you should use better codec or simply Movie Maker 2 (it's free and it's by default in Win XP (Movie Maker 1.0 version), Movie Maker 2 is available @ windows update)

Well, that's what I liked to know... got no idea how to do that, as I wrote in the text file.
I used virtual dub and removed the sound, else it was a 75 MB bigger!
I will try that with Moviemaker 2 (never heared of it, dispite using XP! :) )

Ibo, Mayor, thanks for the advice to use Movie Maker.
I made a better and smaller video WITH sound this time.

Pitty about the Argentina-Bulgaria match for such bad quality because the match itself was nice, I think :)

No reason to be disappointed, because I made a new match: The Derby of the Low Countries; always prestigues and tense!
Same location: ftp://sg-corner:[email protected]/
This one is no exception and hopefully you all can enjoy it this time.
Again I am interested in the comments. :)

Ah..much better speed *90kb/s* for yer holland belgium. Done in a while..looks like I wont be sleeping again tonight :D

p/s I've always wondered how scouts do their reports. It's not much good to watch matches on TV as ya cant see how the players react off the ball and how the overall shape of the team is when facing different situations. I had a bash once in a while while watching matches IRL but how is it ya get to be so 'aware' of things that're going on? :p

I'm looking forward to watch the match played by Han. But how do I download the file? Could anyone please tell me coz I clicked on the ftp link but it said that I dont have the permission or something. Do I have to use any spesific program to download from ftp servers? thanks.

WOW, I have a lot to answer here :)
Ibo, yes this is my style of play. In the prevous Argentina-Bulgaria match I was not able to do that, because I was not familiar with the 3-4-3 formation, so I was constantly looking around on the radar and that goes at the expense of the smooth moving action. Normally I play 4-4-2 and I know where the players are on a given moment so I can pass with one-touch. Especially WE7I Japanese is so much better in response of the controls, which encourage one-touch football: I am happy you like it :)

Hakur, about the scouting-issue: You answered the main part yourself: I watch them for the formation and style they play (say 5-3-2 counter-attack) and I watch for individual things, like players switching positions during the match or if a left central defender is right-footed (interesting info for the striker). Also if players are well in build-up/defense (f.i. if an attacking midfielder does his defensive duty as well). Also, how they are in dead moments like free kicks and corners. I also pay attention in case of a penalty-kick where the taker shoot the ball, etc.
After the match I write it down and mail it to the coach.
Does that answers your question?

thanks awax!

I just watched the video. Lots can be learned from the way Han play in the video. Btw nicel goals Han! I played Man Utd against Arsenal yesterday on 3 stars, 15 minutes. I thought finally i could get a win after a few tries on 3 star but Arsenal got a leveller on the stoppage time! arghhhh! need to stay focus all the time I guess.. :(

You will be surprised how often the CPU scores in extra-time ;)
The best way to avoid that is to substitute the least fit players about 10-15 minutes from time.

and try to keep the ball, opponents tend to rush on you when the match nears the end.
