Post-Processing effects question

Leftos

Youth Team
When using the Demo Raptor, I've noticed that in-game EA has included some really good post-processing effects for cutscenes such as the beginning one or those with the players interacting with each other, such as heat blur, black-and-white and others. However, to get those effects I have to enable Quickmatch in Demo Raptor, which unfortunately does not allow me to enable the player bars, as the game puts them up and left in the 800x600 portion of the screen and renders them annoying and useless. Anyone know if there's any way I can get those effects without using QuickMatch?

EDIT: Here are some samples of the post-processing effects I get:

I get the same "800 x 600" with player tags, the only solution is to go to the menu and "quit" the match! seriously, the game raptor will not allow you to quit, instead it'll re-load the match, and ta TAAA, no bugs anymore! :jap:

Yup, I get the same issues as mentioned in the 2 previous posts when using the Demo Raptor. I thought the blur was really cool and was wondering whether this could simply be enabled by using some setting values in either locale.ini or situation.ini files.

It's basically the film grain option, that's in the config files!

By default it's disabled in the demo's, probably be enabled in the full version

With respect I want to say this man. All of the screens that you have in your first post have been re-touched in any editing or design software. EA is not using those effects in the PC version of fifa, at least not in this demo or any other fifa before this one. So come on man. I have an Nvidia XFX7950 x2 1024mbs overclocked (i'm not trying to show off but to make a point) with everything anable wich mean any HDR or use of Shader 3.0 by directX 9.0c should be enable and even I don't get those effects ( the blurry or soft effect) but the one in the middle kindda like telescope or something like that. I can prove that your images were re-touched.

If your graphics settings are set to high, try this, seemed alot shaper for me and ran a bit smoother.

Just extract and place in the cmn folder

@rikochet,

XLNC is right. I was able to reproduce the same effect on my desktop too. I have a NVIDIA 6800 Ultra w/ 91.47 drivers. In order for you to get them, it seems that you have to use the Demo Raptor available throughout this forum. So, I can safely claimed that the images included above were not retouched.

Yep! you guys are right. My bad. I sincerly doubt it at the beginning because when I fisrt installed the demo raptor make my game crashed so I decided to unistalled without going any further and then I looked at the 3rd screen shot and analized one corner of the net and look like somebody accidentally over blurred it thats when I said that this guy were lying but I guess it was me the one who didn't pay attention in how to reproduce this effect. Sorry about that.

P.S. To log out of the game with quick match enable just press F12 at any moment in the game.

For to enable post-effects just do this:

create or modificate a locale.ini file and add this if you have it on the fifa07 demo folder. You can modificate this ini, resolution, referee, difficulty, etc....

RESOLUTION = 1280x1024x32
QUALITY = 2
WINDOWED = 0
VIDEO = 0
NO_EXTRA_TIME = 0
NEVERENDING_GAME=1
DO_CPU_SUB = 0
ONE_ON_ONE=0
[OPTIONS]
LINESMEN = 0
REFEREE = 0
NUM_SUBS = 3
DO_CPU_SUB = 0
DIFFICULTY_LEVEL = 1

After that, in the data/cmn/ folder, open cfg_pc_h, copy all, and use it to replace the cfg_pc_m and cfg_pc_l text.

So, be sure that the last lines are of this way:

// Disable Depth of Field (videocard specific settings will override this)
DISABLE_DOF = 0
// Ignore card specific setting
IGNORE_DOF_DISABLE = 0

// Disable Post FX (videocard specific settings will override this)
DISABLE_POSTFX = 0
// Ignore card specific setting
IGNORE_POSTFX_DISABLE = 0

That´s all for post-effects.

Take care

@rikochet: Wow... Thanks for the bashing. Glad you stood corrected. Bah, no offense man, but I'm not any sneaky bastard that would post some X360 screenies and say it's for PC or retouch them in Photoshop. Those effects are in-game, and I'm glad you finally got them with your card.

@Neovico: I think that only the last part of your post is required to enable those kinds of effects, plus the resolution and quality part in the locale.ini. Why force CPU not to make subs, or enable the neverending game, or disable the linesmen and referee? Those options have nothing to do with the post-processing effects.

Works better for me dissabling referee and linesman, i mean, better frame rate, ati owner, you know. About the rest of things, yes, have nothing to do with the post-processing effects, but i prefered to put the entire locale.ini for to show that is enable to edit and experiment with diferent things, like resolution, quality, etc...that can be important at the time when you activate the post-processing effects.

Take care
