Posession... Too easy?

I was over in the FIFA forum and I read that in PES you can keep posession very easily against the CPU.

Well I gave it a try and I found that on 3 stars I could score one goal and then EASILY hold the ball and kill the game off. On 4 stars it was harder to hang on to the ball for me but I think with more practice I could do it. On 5 stars I couldn't score so I couldn't test :)

It kind of worries me though... If you got really good (perhaps some of u are) you could design a formation and strategy to kill the game after u score a goal. Would be boring as hell... but still a flaw in the game i think.

Maybe I'm just weird... but these little things ruin a game for me.

after a 1-0 lead in 5 star serbia and montenegro vs italy.... i customized my formation into a 6-4-1 (i think it was), had 10 guys back. They swung it in off a header, vieri fights off 3 guys in the box and heads it in to the game. I then in the stoppage time press and score an amazing goal by mjhalovic to win it 2-1. I think possession is just fine :D

4 and 5 stars it's very dangerous to try to keep possesion in your half for any length of time. On 5 stars they will steal the ball and score almost anytime you pass around in and near your box.

Designing formation is very interesting. It is not boring at all. You won't win just because you changed the formation. You have to choose an effective formation regarding the opponents and be familiar of how the players run. It is highly customizable.
There are a lot factors that affect how the formation works.
That's the depth of PES 3 formation systems.

Even after you mastered the 5 star level and always win, you won't be bored because you can get different goals in different ways as you like. You can also play master league and make your own teams. And of course it will be very interesting to play with your friends. Then you will play the game til PES 4 release.

There is no perfect AI in video game yet. Sooner or later you will be able to consistently win the game on the highest difficulty. So if you want to fully enjoy this game, you should ask your friends to play with youl

Is it just me or is 5 stars easier than 4 stars , sure 5 stars they are bit more aggressive but it seems to be easier to take the ball and score aswell. its like they lost some IQ when going 5 stars and went mental aggressive instead:)

I think my downfall is that i am stubborn and that i likle the pay the total football, 3-4-3 so this sometimes leaves me open to the counter, i rarely change my tactics cus i think to myself this has worked before, i should win.

But now after finishing 4 th in division 1 i changed my views, i have started to rest players etc, one day my team got thrashed 3-0 on 4 stars so i took off all the superstars the next match, and i won 1-0 :D

But i would have to say possesion is just right, they really pressurise u whether u play sidewords, backwords or forwards. The important thing is to keep ur back against the defender until the balls under control
