Caldwell just signed a new contract with the Magpies for another 12 months. At least until June 30 2004 he won't be off St. James' Park.

Jardel may be off to Santos or Palmeiras.

João Pedro surprisingly snubbed Braga to sign for last year's sensation Leixões. The contract is until 2006.

Pedro Moita signed for Paços Ferreira for two years. One of the best players in the Portuguese Third Division last season. I'm paying special attention to this young lad...

Pedro Mendes is on the verge of leaving Guimarães to play for champions FC Porto. Negotiations are about to be completed. Few details left.

Since Pedro Moita declined the offer from Sporting CP because i didn't want to play in Sporting B I just say one thing:

He think he is much important... so i think he will not to be a good player...

I heard rumours about that too and i expect that becomes a reality cause McCarthy it's a fantastic player. Celta's coach must be blind or don't understand nothing about football putting him on the bench.

It's official, the newspapers in Portugal showed images from Capucho with Rangers shirt. Capucho have signed a two years contract with Rangers.

No one wants to play in the Portuguese Second Division B.

It's a very very phisychal competition, where technique doesn't matter.

Why do you think Carlos Martins was sent off twice in 4 weeks while playing for Sporting B?!

Why do you think B team players are sent off very early and very regulary?!

Young players want to develop and play football, not play somekind of rugby or whatever! They prefer being loaned out than playing for the B squad.

Looks like Porto and Boavista are again making the wisest signings so far...Bosingwa and Ricardo Sousa are great aquisitions!

I'm looking forward to seeing Alex play for Benfica next year, but will he get much playing time when Nuno Gomes and Mantorras (the REAL star of Benfica!) are healthy again???

I'm starting to lose a little faith in Camacho also...he hasn't officially renewed his contract with Benfica yet and he's already making some dumb decisions! Like putting Ednilson on the transfer block!? Yet, he wants Bossio (worst keeper ev-er!) to extend his contract!

But all the players in Sporting B have the possibility to be promoted to A team... thats the point! he is a young player... it's place was in B team, for show his talent, then he would be promoted.... but he only want fame... ****ty player!

Ricardo, a wonderful signing it would be. And a good decision to LOAN OUT Moreira, for him to not stop his developing. Ricardo will be sold in a few years time, and then Moreira will show up again, more mature and experienced, and take Benfica's goal place.

And I agree with shinji: Bossio staying?! Ednilson out?! Bad decisions by Camacho.

But I'm sure Ednilson will fight to get his place back in the squad by December. He's the kind of player everyone would want at their roster.

Cabral, Ednilson and Fehér maybe heading towards Beira-Mar on loan for the season. Current president and candidate Mano Nunes is trying to be re-elected, and to beat his opponent (who has already deals to sign Guimarães keeper Palatsi and Betis forward João Tomás), he's trying to sign some players to rival.

I know, I couldn't beleive it when I read that about Ednilson! This is starting to remind me of other great talents we've let go over the years (Deco, Maniche, etc...)

....don't be too surprised to see Ednilson wearing Blue & White in the next year or two!

I still think Benfica will make at least one really big signing for next season...not necissarily Rui Costa, but maybe Pauleta? And if Camacho stays, I have a feeling we might get one or two Real Madrid cast-offs (please let it be McManaman!!!! hehe )

I like Ednilson, hope Benfica throw him away like DECO, maybe FC PORTO can pick him. Camacho will not stay maybe Pacheco, about Pauleta keep dreeming... you Lamps are always dreaming... save your money cause it's not that much.

nikolaidis is already a free player...i hope he come to sporting too

as you may have noticed...him a sporting suporter...but today i'm starting to worry about benfica....come on....in 15 days they're back to work and they're still without a manager???

i should be smiling for that...but they're gonna play in the 3rd qualifying round of the CL

if things stay like that benfica will be humiliated by some top european club
