jesus i hate you guys. i distinctly remember people complaining like it was the biggest injustice when i think Raul or who touched the GK in his little square or whatever, but the goal was still allowed, saying how the referees are biased, Real bought the game, etc. im not saying you english fans were saying this, but everyone, except the Real fans in that thread was saying you CANNOT touch the GK in his area. now its completely different.

I'm a huge Real Madrid fan. Raul was wrong, but the thing is the refs missied it. I'm glad the ref didn't miss yesterday's foul.

ok just for one minute forget if they goal was actually in or not... u said ur self "You cannot judge in a split second whether someone's arm is up or underneath and who pushes more and less." and from where the referee was he could not get a clear look at what happened. the fact that he did not know for sure was proved by him saying it was because of a push and giving a forward pushing movement... if he doesnt know then he should talk to his assistant/linesmen who said the goal should be given... for some bizarre reason the Swiss decided to ignore their professional opinion even tho they had a MUCH better look at it than him and disallow the goal anyway... the fact that should be in or not does not matter. the referee should have given it despite the truth. what i really cant understand is why eufa cant just give the referee a little radio so that he could have an assistant watch slow motion replays when ever hes not sure and for things like red cards and disallowed goals. so many times england have been knocked out because of bad refereeing decisions, surly u can understand why the whole of england is fuming about this.

weither it was a foul or not has not been decided but what ever it was the ref DID miss it... he gave it anyway... wtf was that about... and btw ur not meant to use a referee from a country that was knocked out by one of the teams 6 days before the match... regardless if it was a foul or not the match was a shambles. we all expect better than that.

I'll say it again. You can't talk like the Brazilians. You are not that good. England played absolutely terribly, and I have fully accepted their loss. But I am sick, and tired of pathetic decisions made by the referees.

we all say england played **** but did they really play that bad considering? everyones been going on about rooney so much when we lost him we didnt just loose an amazing striker we lost a lot of confidence and despite that it was stil a very close match like everyone said it would before it started. apart from a few defensive mistakes that portugal also made we played great in defence and were scoring our chances very well... out midfield were pretty dull but i think we played ok considering everything that happened.

Refing games are very difficult, the referees know what they're doing. They're also much older than the players and they have to make decisions on the spot right away. The referees haven't made any really bad obvious calls. So far from what I've seen is the right decisions made. If you want to prove the refs make bad calls, compile a list of what they should've called and what they did call. Besides how many of you know all the rules in soccer, like when is there a direct free-kick and an indirect or if a goal counts if a player kicks the ball in his own directly from a freekick? So stop complaining about the referees, they're doing their jobs and they've been doing very well so far.

who says the linesman really saw what happened. For him the same thing: Split second decision. Imagine for a second that there had been a clear foul, referee not sure, asks linesmen, linesman didn't see anything, goal given. Then the yapping would go the other way around. Best example is the 66 Wembley goal.. Until today we argue whether it was really in or not, and a lot of people in Germany are convinced that if it had not been given the game would have ended differently. This is all speculation.

I agree it is unfortunate for England, but the rule is (not the rule in the book, but common denominator) that when there is a collision in the goalie's box, then a foul is called. I am not saying that Ricardo was merely the victim here. He might have been active part as well, but what I said is: there was a scramble in the goalie's box... two vs one.. i'd venture to say in 9 out of 10 cases this is called... this is the rule (again: not in the books, but as something that one has to expect)

lastly: you had your opportunity to win the match after this "goal"... you did not take it for various reasons, namely Becks and Vassel.
