I hear there is a population of over 100,000 English in Faro(according to Sky Sports News). (H)

my sister lives in Faro, and yes there are lots of English in the Algarve in general. Most are older retired people though :)

About the match.....good teams, good weather, new stad, two old football rivals, lots of players looking to impress....it has all the makings of an entertaining match.

I'll be happy with a draw, providing we play good football and avoid any injuries.

We'll take it to England old-school... 3-2... England getting 2 early ones with Figo scoring from midfield on one of our 3.(H) :mrpimp: ;)

Simão played for Barcelona three seasons ago. He scored in that famous Barça-Real of the first return of Figo to Camp Nou.

Last season he scored 18 goals (outstanding mark for a winger) and he's an outstanding free kicks and penalty taker (i don't remember he missing a penalty!)

Is the game on TV? Especially in the USA:) :o :(

over here(England) its on Sky Sports 2

Wednesday 18, 20:00, Sky Sports 2

Coverage of the friendly international between Portugal and England at the Algarve Stadium, Faro, kick-off 9.15pm. England's preparations for Euro 2004 begin with a visit to the hosts of this summer's tournament, Portugal. Skipper David Beckham may find himself in direct opposition to his Real Madrid team-mate, Luis Figo, in what should prove a stern test of Sven Goran Eriksson's team's credentials. England last faced Portugal in September 2002, when Alan Smith scored in a 1-1 draw.

Don't worry though if you can't watch the game.

I second that statement.

Anyway 2-0 to the Three Lions.

A Rooney brace perhaps. He plays well for Sven.
