Unfortunately im unable to attend the match due to a match of my own, k/o for me is 3pm so I won't get off the pitch till about 5ish and Pompey's k/o is quater past 5ish. So i'll be watching on Tv.
Im confident about the game to be honest, they can cause an upset of course, like we did last season, we sprung a few surprises but it took us a while to gain our first away victory. I just think we've gained more strength this season with some good signings and at home especially, im confident. But anything can happen in the Premiership, but im confident of our strikers and can't really see too many games when we won't score.
Ricardo Fuller's fitness is in question, after playing a WC Qualifier against El Salvador in midweek and Lua Lua resting a groin strain, new signing Kamara could gain a place on the bench. Richard Hughes is back from a calf injury, im unsure if he'll start though.
If we win and results go our way, we could end up 6th on Saturday, which I know is very early on in the season, but it's always a good confidence boost, but if we lost and didnt go our way we could end up 15th. So it works both ways.
Other news is that John Curtis has gone on loan to Preston, and both Schemmel and Pompey have agreed to end Sabestian's contract. He's had a tough time here...
Anyway..
Heres the probable squads
Portsmouth: Hislop, Primus, de Zeeuw, Stefanovic, Unsworth, Stone, Quashie, Berger, Berkovic, Yakubu, Fuller, Hughes, Diomansy, Mezague, Lua Lua, Taylor, Griffin,O'Neil, Ashdown.
Crystal Palace: Speroni, Kiraly, Granville, Popovic, Borrowdale, Boyce, Hudson, Leigertwood, Riihilahti, Kolkka, Routledge, Hughes, Derry, Hall, Black, Ventola, Johnson, Andrews, Kaviedes, Torghelle.
Should be a good game with expected goals. We may see Mezague (anyone have info on him?) who looks like a very strong lad, and Kamara!
But yeah, should be a good game, expect goals
Both teams have atleast one striker who's capable of scoring given any half chance, but i'd say maybe 2-1.
