hi now i'm in season 2013/2014 i play with sevilla i had a team hs oldest player aged 25 year wiz $150m budget & 91 team chemistry the problem that when i start the season the game crashed=get out to windows directly wiz no obvious reason i still had this problem till i decide to play another team i played wiz tolouse but the problem this time happen wiz the 2nd season i wonder if u can help me plzzzzzzzzz

Maybe you have more than 30 players in your squad. I have had that problem a few times.

More than likely it's the 30 player issue and planing training as well. If you delete/remove the training you should be OK (it's happened to me too) just make sure you sell some players to get under 30 (this includes loaned players as well)

thanks for help it's really was the problem of the training session i was planned in the third or forth season but now i own 30 players even if i try to sell some players still wait for the next match to accept/reject the selling process so any ideas guys.....

I play a first season, and started a bew, in my team 30 players, but i cant play friendly(windows has stopped a work), I want not start new maneger mode, if that be, fifa 08 will be the bad game in the world!!! ****, its only simpe game! Iinstal CM08, rename a player, ingame make a transfer and start a mode.

If I understand what you are saying you have changed FIFA.DB with CM08 and now your manager mode will not load. I'm afraid that is how things go, and the fact is documented more than once in the help file. Revert to your backup of the FIFA.DB and you will be able to play your manager mode.

Sorry Mohamed but it isn't that simple. Firstly my apologies - I didn't check the data as closely as I ought to have, just proved that I could Quick Sim a dozen or so games without any trouble.

On closer inspection your data is more of a mess than any of the other examples of this that I've seen since you had players that didn't have an XP growth table entry (which I've fixed) but also players that do have an entry in that table but no entry in the overall history table (which ought to be impossible if the game handled the two tables the same, so it obviously isn't) and players that have an entry in one or both of the other two tables but no entry in the grown attributes table (which is definitely handled differently, because it holds 60 entries rather than being limited to 30 like the other two).

The latter two tables represent more of a problem because (if I'm not going to denude your team of players) I need to strip those players from the overall history that are no longer on your club and add back entries for those players that are, but I have no way to recreate the data that isn't there. The grown attributes table is a little easier, because I can just set everything to zeroes without causing a problem, but the one thing I can't do is correctly set the potential boost because I've never worked out exactly how it was calculated.

All in all, I've got some work to do to detect these new problems and even more work to fix them properly. I'll let you know when I have further updated files for you, but the seventh season Sevilla career is going to take me longer to sort out than the fourth season Toulouse one (because it has both problems rather than just the missing overall history).

Not necessarily. I've already written the diagnostic code and will soon start on the logic to fix the overall history table problem (which affects your Toulouse career). I should have something for you within a couple of days on that one. The other will take a little longer

Yes, but in my opinion the easiest way to do that is simply not to loan players out, and then the game stops you from breaching the limit. I've yet to find a tangible benefit from loaning players

Yes, it is another oversight by the database team (which they've chosen not to fix in FIFA 08, since it also existed in FIFA 07). Fixing this is on my list of things to do but there are a couple of other changes that will probably happen first.

With the Toulouse career you would only have the one player to worry about, T. Hope, so you would just need to avoid training for whichever group he is in (midfielders in this case, since he is a LWM). I don't have the time to check the other one, but given that there are five or six problem players I'd say that you'd be lucky to be able to schedule any training at all.

Oh, and if you do decide to carry on with either of those careers then you'll need to let me have your updated manager mode data once I've fixed the outstanding issues since there seems little point in fixing an out of date file.

It isn't, it is the same as everyone else's, I suspect that you've simply gone overboard with loaning players out to other teams, far more so than anyone else that has contacted me with this problem. The fault is entirely that of EA Sports' developers.

thanks very much steve ,man who are u ???? actually i start to enjoy the problem as i find answers immediately ,regarding the training issue in my career i
heavily depend on scouting players in getting money from selling them out or keep them ...sometimes i find a good players so i keep them while the other as the list is full is going loaned adding to there ovr 3-5 point so i guess it's important the reason i think my game has been crashed is fifa developers -i think- assuming a sort of fixing percentage of the original line-up which in y case not existed at all
-i can't believe the beta version did it by just a click it's unbelivable it's magic guys u should work wiz harry potter or matrix team ...magic all i can say..
now i have a question if i start new career i don't need to worry about any no. of players or training session if so i can managed..steve thank u man

Hey I was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem I have in manager mode.

After I finish a match and want to go to the stats page (with player performance and EXP gain) the game crashes. However, if I quick sim or visual sim it, there's no problem. Even if I visual sim and intervene in the last few minutes the game won't crash. I've even deleted my profile and restarted, but the problem persists.

I suspect it could be because I altered the player growth of some of the players in CM08, because when I restarted my career with another team (whose players I have not altered) there appears to be no such problem.

If it is because I altered the growth rate/potential/grow type of the player, is there a way that I can reverse my actions? Thanks a lot!!

I would still steer clear of loaning out players, because I'm seeing (and hearing of) evidence that players returning from loan sometimes end up damaged even if your team does not have more than 30 players.

With the damaged players that aren't over the 30 player limit I've decided to remove them from the manager's team just as I do for players over the limit, rather than trying to repair or recreate the missing table entries, because I suspect that that will simply trigger further problems down the line. Alternatively you could simply sell the players that show up in the repaired manager modes with no growth (whilst avoiding scheduling training sessions for the affected groups until you've sold them all) and get some money back for them.

Given the point in the game that it crashes then I'd say almost definitely.

Restore the backup of the affected files that you took before starting to make amendments.

Hi Steve,

I've just started encountering the crashes whenever i exit the summary page after the game. I'm currently midway through my 5th season, and have only 28 players. I've cancelled the training but the game still crashes whether i simulate or play the actual game. I'm also using the new EA roster, so what else should i check? Thanks!

It doesn't matter how many players you have currently on your squad (other than at the start of a new season, when you can end up with more than 30) but whether at any point you've had more than 30 players associated with your team. Easiest way to check is to look at the Player Growth screens and check each individual player to see if any of them have all question marks instead of their current growth data. If you do have that situation then my EAFFAnalyser code can fix that for you. If not, then it must be something else that is triggering the crashes.

Probably your best bet is to email to me (via the Send Email link that comes up if you click on my name in the left hand pane) a ZIP archive containing your manager mode data file, along with FIFA.DB and ENG.DB (if they've been modified from the original installation) and I'll take a look and see if I can see anything awry.
