Playing on-line behind a router

Now please correct me if I'm wrong, but atm I don't think it's possible to join a game as a client when you're behind a router.

Myself, I forwarded the appropriate port (UDP 5739) and now I can host a game without a problem, but I cannot join in. I've been hanging in IRC for a while and it seems to be problem for everybody who uses a router.

So, any suggestions to work around this problem would be greatly appreciated. With league games to come, it would be impossible to have a match between two router parties! Also, the host has a big advantage, since he is lag-free.

Oh yeah, and connecting the modem directly to my comp when I play PES4 is not an option, since I use a modem/router, so I can't seperate them.

lo frommelgoal mate

same problem here :(

i use a modem router too - so cant split them

i cant join games at all.

but i can host - for about 3 mins, then bang, the connection drops - or the other person lags out.

it makes no sense tbh - there must be something else that needs configuring - unless konami have released the game without testing

the only good thing, is that the game is now in the publics hands - so konami should get alot of feedback, and hopefully they should patch the issues.

When Im behind a router i can join a game, but the connection drops after about 1 min, and i cant host. But when i connect the internet cable driectly to my computer it works perfectly, this means that i cant play online if my brother is home

Anybody know if it's possible to completely disable the router's firewall temporarily while playing PES?

And, if so, do you think that might be the way to get it to work?

you could always jsut put your machine in the DMZ while you play online.

Should be a seeting for that in your router settings.
I use a linksys router and it's dead easy. THe only problem is you're opening up your machine to the entire intarweb ;)
